Does anyone seriously believe that Dr. Laura Schlessinger is a racist? Anyone, I mean, who isnt already accusing all conservatives, Republicans, Tea Party Americans, etc., etc., etc. of being racists?
Adversaries who have been trying to silence Dr. Laura for years seized on her recent use of the n-word on her show as she subsequently suggested that rap artists and other creative types like those producing HBO shows who regularly use the n-word could be questioned for doing so. Her intention in discussing the issue with a caller seeking advice was not to be hateful or bigoted. Though she did not mean to insult the caller, she did, and she apologized for it. Still, those who oppose her seized upon her mistake in using the word (though she didnt call anyone the derogatory term) to paint her as something that shes not. I can understand how she could feel shackled by those who would parse a single word out of decades of on-air commentary. I understand what she meant when she declared that she was taking back my First Amendment rights by turning to a new venue that will not allow others the ability to silence her by going after her stations, sponsors, and supporters.
I, and obviously many others, have been shackled too by people who play games with false accusations, threats, frivolous lawsuits, misreporting, etc., in an effort to silence those with whom they disagree. Thats why I tend to defend people who call it like they see it while others stop at nothing to shut them up. I learned this valuable lesson when the partisan obstructionists in my state tried to shackle, bankrupt, and destroy my family and

you can no longer use the n-word EVEN in an intellectual discussion without being branded a racist. But the word is used by african americans ALL the time
My word! You seem to have excerpted your own material!
Why is that?
Are you interested in getting the message out.. or getting blog hits?
Hmmmm.. Very curious.
See above; just for you.
I just really like her. She definetly is a fighter!!!!
I am not the biggest Dr. Laura fan but she is no racist. What she was doing was making a point to the caller about how you hear African Americans saying it ALL the time. Go on the bus and you hear the N word on a daily basis. I’ve heard it so many times I’ve lost count, but if a white person says it that person is deemed a racist. Now did Dr. Laura go a little overboard by saying it 11 times, maybe, but she was not insulting the caller and she was definitely not being a racist.
We usually wait for another post directly from her facebook.
I don’t ping the list to excerpts.

I dont ping the list to excerpts.
Dr. Laura didn;’t like Sarah named as McCain’s running mate and thought she should stay at home and raise her kids. She was quite adamant in her dislike of Palin. This despite Laura having a radio show (job) and not staying at home herself...
I find it interesting Sarah would rally to her here.
I think Sarah comes to the defense of those who she feels is being treated like she has been treated for the last 2 years. She knows Dr. Laura does not support her but still comes to her defense, just shows that Sarah does not look at a person and thinks “Oh that person does not support me to screw em” she’d come to anyone’s defense who she thought was being screwed over
Just shows that Sarah has CLASS!!
“I dont ping the list to excerpts.”
I agree!
What happened to Dr Laura’s son Derek who was facing some kind of charges in the Marines? It had something to do with being a white supremist. I can’t remember what it was all about but it was a couple of yrs ago.
That’s the thing and misunderstanding with Palin. She kills her enemies with kindness and turns them into a believer, like that teacher in Wasilla.
I thought of going through and *’ing the letter g in the following, but do I have to censor a man who was hounded to death by government censorship via criminal prosecution in America, where that shouldn't happen?
“Are there any niggers here tonight? Could you turn on the house lights, please, and could the waiters and waitresses just stop serving, just for a second? And turn off this spot. Now what did he say? “Are there any niggers here tonight?” I know there's one nigger, because I see him back there working. Let's see, there's two niggers. And between those two niggers sits a kyke. And there's another kyke that's two kykes and three niggers. And there's a spic. Right? Hmm? There's another spic. Ooh, there's a wop; there's a polack; and, oh, a couple of greaseballs. And there's three lace-curtain Irish micks. And there's one, hip, thick, hunky, funky, boogie. Boogie boogie. Mm-hmm. I got three kykes here, do I hear five kykes? I got five kykes, do I hear six spics, I got six spics, do I hear seven niggers? I got seven niggers. Sold American. I pass with seven niggers, six spics, five micks, four kykes, three guineas, and one wop.”
“Well, I was just trying to make a point, and that is that it's the suppression of the word that gives it the power, the violence, the viciousness. Dig: if President Kennedy would just go on television, and say, “I would like to introduce you to all the niggers in my cabinet,” and if he'd just say “nigger nigger nigger nigger nigger” to every nigger he saw, “boogie boogie boogie boogie boogie,” “nigger nigger nigger nigger nigger” ‘til nigger didn't mean anything anymore, then you could never make some six-year-old black kid cry because somebody called him a nigger at school.

I’m answering my own post. Just looked up about Dyrek and it was the Army and he had shown pictures of children being molested and other bad things. Sorry for Dr Laura.
Mark Furman figured that out by his reading of a movie script that used the word.
I want to make a public statement about Sarah Palin; former Governor of Alaska and candidate for Vice President of the United States.
As you know, Tuesday night I announced that I will leave radio at the end of my contract in December so I can speak freely and openly about issues that concern me without fear of retribution against my advertisers and radio stations.
On Wednesday, in her Tweet and Facebook, Sarah Palin made strong statements in my support. You may remember that, two years ago, I was less than enthusiastic when she was selected by John McCain to be his running mate, as my concerns were that having responsibilities for small children should preclude such a decision.
(snip)
I spoke with her yesterday and told her how impressed I was with her character. You dont see such character much these days. I believe most folks would have had a more negative approach considering I had not been supportive at that time. But, nope, not Sarah. She is gracious and a woman of principles no petty reaction.
She and I have a lot in common. We both find ourselves on the receiving end of vitriolic partisan attacks. We both made huge changes in our lives to be able to protect the people we love and have a freer context in which to try to help Americas families.
By the way, we had to end our conversation after a few minutes because she had to get her kidlet off to first day at school. Seriously adorable moment.
