Pat Buchanan: Gingrich is Political Opportunist Trying to Position Himself Right of Palin

Fresh off his vacation, MSNBC's Pat Buchanan came out swinging Tuesday on "Morning Joe," calling former House Speaker Newt Gingrich a "political opportunist" for his comments about the proposed mosque in New York City.
On Monday, Gingrich compared the building of a proposed mosque near Ground Zero to Nazis putting up "a sign next to the Holocaust Museum" or "the Japanese putting up a site next to Pearl Harbor."
Buchanan argued that Gingrich's controversial comments were meant to position him to the right of his potential GOP primary opponent, Sarah Palin, on the issue.

I don’t normally agreed with Pat Buchanan; but his opinion about Newt is absolutely correct.

No fan of Palins, but Buchanan is right I know you're not, and I'm no fan of Buchanan's, but on Newt he's right, and I like Newt for some of his ideas, but not as a presidential candidate or spokesman for the Republican party. He's a professor who thinks he knows it all. FDR a great president? Absolutely NOT.

"Say what you will about Pat but he is right on with his assessment about Mr Newt."I say he is right about abortion, illegal immigration, selling out jobs to China, defending America and not the world. He is right about Newter the Cheater.

I wonder why he said that the comparison to Nazis was absurd?

gingrich lost my vote when he caved to the left on the global warming hoax.

Honestly, I would vote for Newt before I would Romney or Huckleberry, but it would have to come down to that.
I'm not as annoyed with Newt so much because he went skirt chasing - bill clinton did much worse - as I am about him building the "Rebublican revolution" up to a cresendo, and then, just dropping out.
I'm sure along about that time his other head was doing his thinking for him, but mixing business and pleasure will get you every time. And, when the public found out about his antics, they deserted him.
If he said that, then he is worried about Palin...as he should be...she would trounce him throughly.

Newt has become too fancy for me, if you understand what I’m trying to relate. I don’t want “worldly”.

FrankR, I have a splitting headache right now, but I’ve read your comments, and I think I have to agree with you on all counts. It would have to come down to choosing Newt over Huckabee and Romney, because I find the latter two completely unacceptable for a myriad of reasons.

Apparently, he’s worried about Sarah and thinks he’s the superior intellect. Well, how’s that intellect working for him when it comes to drawing crowds, selling books and commanding the national stage with a mere tweet or FB entry?

Newt is just latest follower of a true leader.
Sarah comments on the 911 mosque and of course Newt has to comment on it as well.
All the GOP men are getting their asses handed to them by Sarah.

Newt is undoubtedly jealous of Sarah. But we do need him. His Contract for America and other takes on energy, etc. etc. are invaluable,Sarah will find a place for him.

Of course the arrogant Newt thinks hes the superior intellect. In his mind he is part of the ‘ruling class’. That is exactly why, IMHO, we need to get all of the ‘ruling class’ out of our government.
We need to get real Americans with real lives into politics at all levels. Local, state and federal.
