President Obama and the left like to talk about sacrifice as if it is some sort of patriotic duty to let the government take your hard earned money and give it to another. For instance: You have the right to drive a Chevy Volt if you choose. But why should the government subsidize that choice by taking money from the pockets of your fellow citizens to support your choice? If you want to drive a car that costs $41,000.00 so be it but you better be able to pay for it without expecting a subsidy from your neighbor.
I received more than my fair share of hate mail over the weekend from so called, freedom loving liberals who were unhappy with my criticism of GM, their choice to build a new plant in Mexico, and the Chevy Volt. It's actually quite funny, these emails always start the same way; I’m a conservative but… insert liberal drivel here. Personally I could care less what you drive because in America, we have the freedom of choice, although the left is doing everything in their power to take that away. Liberals conveniently confuse regulation with freedom and taxation with charity.
Ayn Rand said “the man who speaks to you of sacrifice, speaks of slaves and masters, and intends to be the master.” The left likes to wax poetic about freedom but then passes legislation that is thousands of pages long, to dictate to you, what you can and cannot do. Why? Because they intend for government to be your master. The Healthcare Bill and The Financial Reform Bill are perfect examples of that.

So let have some real shared sacrifice. Let us start by reducing the size and scope of the Federal Goverment. Let us all sacrifice the benefit the political class has chosen to "give" us.

Most ridiculous thing I ever hard of.
Somebody did the math and I think the result is if you don’t buy power at less than 3 cents a kilowatt/h you’re losing money. I think the total cost of ownership over the life of the car will be far more than even a Ford F150.
