Connection? Is that what they call it now.
Come on baby stune my beeber
Gary Smalley's four keys to a successful marriage:
1. Commitment (no plan "B")
2. Communication ("connection" as laid out here/emotional authenticity)
3. Affection
4. Romance
Yes, and all four of Gary Smalley’s keys you listed all are forms (or feeders of) CONNECTION. Ask any women you know about the importance of her feeling connected to her husband. She’ll tell you.
Problem is . . . women and men have very different views on what being “connected” means . . . ; )
It’s not 50-50, its 100%-100%. That plus God’s grace. And no Plan “B.” Otherwise it’s get out when things heat up and things ALWAYS heat up - its designed that way.
Yes, and being happily married means accommodating the other person’s views. (Obviously to the extent that they’re not illegal or immoral).

The author incorrectly assumes all spouses are redeemable. Sometimes, the alternative is better than reconnecting with a bitch.
When my husband annoys me, I try to remember what he has to put up with. Not such a small amount!
The miraculous thing is how two very imperfect people can create love that is so much better than either of them.
After 52 years I guess we’re connected, whatever that means!
Marriage is not Rocket Science. It is Holy Matrimony and is even a Sacrament to many.
Things like this that start with the premise that a bad marriage can be fixed, really disgust me. Marriage is not something that can break. Individuals can become ugly, callous and selfish, then allow their poor character to guide themselves toward shallow decisions.
I agree. There shouldn't be an expectation of doings everything together, but a married couple should have some things that they truly enjoying being together to do.
Don’t get fat and let yourself become revolting (for both men and women).
You never really know a woman, until you meet her in court.
unless you BOTH let yourselves get fat and revolting at the same time. then your good.
Lol...Methinks you’ve found the heart of the matter.
