Third Haley Affair Alleged
Fits News ^ | 7/30/10 | staff (no pun intended)

First it was the blogger, then it was the lobbyist … could a South Carolina lawmaker be the next Palmetto politico accused of amorous activity with GOP gubernatorial nominee Nikki Haley?

That’s the story numerous lobbyists are relating to FITS – a narrative that includes allegations of at least one specific encounter between Haley and S.C. Rep. Thad Viers (R-Myrtle Beach) at a 2006 legislative conference in San Francisco, California.

Both Viers and Haley attended the conference – which was sponsored by the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) – and both were married at the time. Haley is still married, while Viers and his wife have since divorced.

Previously, Haley was accused of having a one-night stand with lobbyist Larry Marchant at a school choice conference in 2008. And prior to that bombshell, blogger Will Folks (our founding editor) admitted under duress to having had what he calls an “inappropriate physical relationship” with Haley in the Spring of 2007.

Well Mr. Hunter, it’s like this. Eventhough it’s a conservative website that this article comes from, the Palin cultists treat it as if it was from the Nation magazine. Why, you may ask? Because it is “anti-Palin”. You see, anyone or any site that can’t see the beauty and majesty and brilliance of Palin, even if only peripherally related as in this case (Palin endorsed Haley), is immediately suspect - just as all of Haley’s opponents were branded RINOs.

They wage 24/7 war on forums like FR to convince the skeptics that Palin is the next RWR. If you don’t buy what they are selling, you must hate women and love Obama.

Are you posting this tripe on your own hook, or on the behalf of your “Falcon Party”?

Ha ha.

Almost as funny as going to the “Falcon Party” website — no news for over 365 days except for interviews with Duncan Hunter.

So... does this so-called “party” even have any candidates on a ballot somewhere, let alone gotten anyone elected?

Who did you get nominated and elected last time out, skippy?

Struck a nerve, did I? Neither did you — you only bailed to join this “party” after your “Precious” (Hunter) got trounced in the GOP primary, just as I predicted he would.

Get on a ballot somewhere before you have the nerve to call yourself a political party.

No nerves. Just with all your browbeating for Fred last time the only thing you managed to do was get McCain the nomination, just like I said you would. Truth hurts, I know.

Better McCain than Romney or Guiliani. (Okay, it’s varying degrees of awful, but still...) If you think Thompson had any bearing on Hunter’s non-existent chances, you’re more delusional than I thought. There’s a reason that U.S. Reps never win their party’s nomination — voters expect candidates to have at least represented an entire state in some fashion, and so do the “money people” who finance campaigns (as they want to know the candidate has a reasonable track record). Plus, House members are often from “safe” districts where they can be as ideologically “pure” as they like without risk of losing their seat; when they have to actually run a competitive race, they don’t know how.

That’s beside the point here, which is that you have no standing in providing “advise” to Republicans since you are promoting some supposed other party; a party that has no electoral track record and whose website seems to exist solely for the promotion of a single individual: Duncan Hunter.

As such, your posting of gossip from a source that has already been discredited in previous attempts to make similar smears and is designed to harm the chances of a Republican candidate for office (SC Governor, in this case) is immediately suspect.

Come on, pissant, yuo can pick up the phone to call Duncan Hunter anytime you want, so why make a pseudo public showing here on this thread just because I pinged him knowing I could send him a FR mail?

I just think he ought to be aware that you’ve been on a hell bent mission to take down Nikki Haley from the very start, posting every article you could find that mentioned anything negative about her, particularly accusations by men that they had affairs with her, but when it came time to produce evidence, there wasn’t any, but that didn’t stop your nasty remarks or dash your hopes, so...

I have to question your motives? Was it Sarah Palin’s endorsement of Nikki Haley that set you against her?

You can claim Sarah “cultists” but that’s a nasty remark of its own. The same can and has been said of you by some here for your loyalty to Mr. Hunter, so let’s dispense with that nonsense. I am a holder of the Sarah Palin ping list, but a cultist or worshipper I am not. You, or anyone else, will not find me posting a nasty comment about any other conservative candidate.

I don’t give a rip that you call Sarah Palin “Precious,”-— it’s one of the better names she’s called. I do take issue, however, with your trashing of Nikki Haley, particularly in light of the fact that South Carolina FReepers are FOR her and you’re supposedly from WA state.

Come now, pissant helped Duncan Hunter get a whopping .000001% of the Republican primary votes of 2008.

that's just slightly below the amount of votes for the box marked "not sure" on the ballots......

Think about that for a while when you see his comments, then think "total loser"

BTW, it ain’t me who posts that Hunter stuff on Falcon. It’s not my website.

But just to be clear, Fred getting in DID hurt Hunter’s chances. Many conservatives wanted a “name” to glom onto. And Fred was it. Instead of working in the trenches to get one of the two conservatives in the race (Hunter/Tanc) the name ID to compete, they decided to go the easy path and assign Fred lotsa of conservative credentials he did not possess. Would Hunter have won w/o Fred entering the race? Very unlikely in the climate of 2008. Would he have the name ID now to compete in 2012? Good question.

Regardless, Palin is the new Fred. And her followers will be equally disappointed.

It may not be your website, but you’re promoting it. It’s not a party, it’s a campaign ad for someone who either isn’t running or who will run a pathetic symbolic campaign like he did last time.

Hunter will never be President of the United States. Period. Unless he becomes someone’s Vice-President and succeeds to the office.

Your constant hyping of Hunter combined with tearing down anyone who you perceive to be in his way is more “cultlike” than anything I’ve seen from Palin support on FR.

So, why is it that you feel the need to post scurrilous gossip about Haley on FR? Is it because Palin endorsed her? Or is it simply because she’s a “she”?

Just to note, any campaign to depress voter turnout for Haley could impact DeMint’s chances of re-election.

That is a profound rationalization and scapegoating at the very worst.

Duncan Hunter was never a contender in the Presidential race.

He had virtually no national recognition.

You know what Ace, your anti-Palin crap and now this crap on Nikki Haley is getting pretty damn old and I like Duncan Hunter a lot.
I do like Palin better than Hunter because she has the "Traction/Momentum" and Hunter doesn't and never will because he's NOT making the effort.

But just to be clear, Fred getting in DID hurt Hunter’s chances.

Hunter did not even have one person trying to get his name on the ballot. He had no organization. Ohio's primary wasn't exactly late, it was in March.

And that's how I found out it wasn't serious.

Oh, I see. Your ping was for altruistic reasons, mine for public show? LOL. I can see this is starting off well.

Did you say the same on the Algore threads? The Mark Sanford threads & John Edwards threads (before they fessed up)? As for me, I'm judging her on her denials I saw her make. I could tell she was lying.

I have to question your motives? Was it Sarah Palin’s endorsement of Nikki Haley that set you against her?

No, my keener interest is that she appears (to my eyes) to be lying. And the accusations are coming from people she knows - CONSERVATIVES she knows - yet the Palinistas are treating her as if she was Sarah's right hand co-goddess, and the accusers as if they were lifelong democrat operatives. Kinda funny.

Fine. You aren't a cultist. And I've never said you were. But you align with them by default. It should be you and like-minded Palin fans that reel in the nuts on your side. Then again, it is entertaining at times.

I don’t give a rip that you call Sarah Palin “Precious,”-— it’s one of the better names she’s called. I do take issue, however, with your trashing of Nikki Haley, particularly in light of the fact that South Carolina FReepers are FOR her and you’re supposedly from WA state.

And what is your interest in her? I don't recall you moving to SC. And the folks browbeating me for posting this article are mostly NOT from SC, but they are almost all big Palin fans. You will note that I thought she made the right call for endorsements in my state with Didier, and with Vaughn Ward in ID, as well as Rubio in FL.

Cool. Vote for whomever tickles your fancy. And you may want to not it was the palinistas (formerly known as Fredheads) that brought up Hunter, not me.

If you supposed conservatives can pretend that career long Centrist Committee Fred was a conservative, then you are right, a Duncan Hunter type can never be a contender. Next thing you know folks will start building an altar for a mayor from Wasilla just for being John McCain’s chosen handmaiden with nice legs.
