People like Krugman start with the wrong assumptions so they come to the wrong conclusions (every time).

Wish he’d give up his column - he’s perpetually wrong on just about every economic issue that exists. He’s nothing but a mouthpiece for labor unions.

“When Krugman repeated his claim that Bush’s tax cuts had “caused” the deficit and damaged the economy, commenters first taught Krugman how to count.”
That alone was worth the long read ;D! Thanks for posting.

Funny when an Ivy League degree (I’m assuming here about Krugman’s background) and a Nobel prize make it almost certain that you know less about economics than the average businessman.

I remember Krugman (or was it Howard Feinman} that went to the Detroit Auto Show and had a hissy fit over large SUV's specifically the Excursion. While no longer in production, it still has a niche, is in demand by large families, ranchers, and was great for businesses like a back country / off road tours.
Now compare GM and Chrysler to Ford and Krugman's and Ford's success vs. his blind side to great free market business models.
My guess our Dr. of Econ never took any accounting. I must admit a moment of Shadenfruede, how is that Hopey Changey workin' for ya Dr. Paul?

Krugman is a perfect example of why we shouldn't have Ivy academics making policy decisions. He's also a perfect example of how far the academy has drifted from open-mindedness and critical thinking and how it has now defined itself primarily as a club populated by those of like ideology.

Excellent article. Liberals seem to want to shut down free speech when they disagree with it.

Great post. I’ve often said this about our “Patriot’s History of the United States” that the scholarship is in our favor, even from most of the lib journals. It’s amazing but their own stuff confirms that whether on social policy, economics, religion in America’s past, whatever, the right is right.

If anyone can post a link about Keynesian economics that a non-economist like me can grasp, I’d appreciate it. Any articles or comments or analysis that are well-informed are welcome. Thank you in advance.
As for the article, Krugman has always written with the arrogance of the guy at the party who first finds out that there are no other guests in his area of expertise, then starts spouting his opinions loudly, as if they are the only possible ideas on the subject. Then when someone shows up who can argue his points, he says something about troublemakers or not wanting to ruin the party with an argument and leaves.

If I recall correctly, Krugman’s Nobel prize was in the category of cognitive disingenuousness.

Now, the Obama administration is evidently worried that it bought economic snake oil from Keynesians like Krugman. I don't see how anyone can work for Obama and worry about any such thing. That makes the assumption that anyone in this administration cares a snap about growth or productivity.
When the goal is the destruction of the United States, growth and productivity are the two last things on your list. In fact the list ends before you get that far.

Good news and great fun all in one!
I suspect Krugman's dog is going to be miserable for a while.
