Congressional Democrats dont really love our Constitution. They see it a pesky fly that occasionally lands on their plans and has to be shooed away.
When in power Democrats will rip up the Constitutions, and laugh as they throw the pieces into the faces of the Republican Boy Scouts. ..
So it was no surprise that Nancy Pelosi ordered a supermajority vote to pass a simple health care bill designed to help sick and dying first responders who rushed to the rubble of the World Trade Center and the Pentagon to do anything they could. Real Americans are like that.
Last week as the House was finishing its business before its August Recess, Pelosi ordered a vote on [1]H.R.847 The James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act of 2010 named after a fallen NYPD detective stricken terminally ill from carcinogens he inhaled working to save lives at Ground Zero.
Bottom feeding Democrats
Instead of allowing a clean bill meaning one with no amendments to be voted on and passed with a simple 218 vote majority, Pelosi waited until the very last minute to call for a vote.
She did this purposely to put Republicans in a position of having to either vote . for giving money to illegal aliens (now clearly a Democrat constituency group) or vote against .first responders. To ratchet up the pressure Pelosi stooped to deeming the vote be conducted under a procedure called Suspension.
. under suspension there could be NO debate which would expose the Democrats
..attaching an illegal alien give away to it. Moreover, Suspension means a bill needs a supermajority of two thirds to pass. The bill got more than enough votes to pass, but because the cowardly Democrats played politics with brave American lives it failed 255 to 155

Nooo...she didn't really verbally say that did she?
Actions speak louder than words.
The ‘Pubbies should have voted against it. The Feds have no business transferring taxpayer money to the 911 responders. Its up to their states, local governments or charity. It is not (or should not be) a function of the Federal Government.
