No, Rangel will introduce a bill which if passed would bring back the draft. He's done this a number of times in past sessions, and the bill goes nowhere. This one will do the same.

Even the Democrats aren’t that stupid. If they do institute a draft, it’ll be for Mr. Obama’s Civilian National Security Force.

If I ever Lock & Load again, it will NOT be under the command of that Commie Tripe.

Some of us are quiet peaceful citizens who are armed and know how to use them. From my cold dead hands, FUBO.

While Congress could reinstate the draft as it is empowered to maintain the military, compulsory civilian service is slavery, and is unconstitutional.

Of course, none of this matters, as "the first black president wants to reinstate slavery." (This is not my quote, I just heard it somewhere and am repeating it).

I would also imagine that our military isn't interested in reinstating the draft, as the only people they would get would be the same ones they got during the last draft, that is, all the people who were not rich enough, well-connected enough, or daft enough to escape the draft. Sad to say, these are not the kinds of people that we want to be motivating to do something they don't want to do.

...two years of military or security service. ... they would have to choose noncombatant or civilian service, which will be defined by the President.

Civilian security service, as defined by the President. Gee, would they get to wear brown shirts and knee-high leather boots too? NFW hussein, NFW.

I support Obama 100%. It would obviously jack up his ratings in short course, this whole country is just anxious to be armed and looking for a battle.

I am 53 but if I get some of that Just for men hair color I can pass for 42.

I want to be a tanker.

No they won’t. This election is going to kick their butts hard enough already. Rangle keeps introducing this bill to prove some point that nobody cares about, but it’ll never pass. Not unless they actually find a majority in Congress that want to retire.

Charlie the Crook has been trying to do this for years. I don’t see it going anywhere this time either. Especially when the boy already has a ton of ethics problems he is going to have to deal with.
