No Bias Zone: 'Journalist' Calls Tea Parties 'Right-Wing Bloodfeasts'

One of my early blogging assignments was the media bias beat over at Newsbusters, so I became particularly attuned to picking up on how the Old Media toes that "unbiased" journalistic line. Unfortunately, in sometimes subtle ways their rhetoric is geared to smear Republicans in any way possible.

Here is a perfect example. Last week in a a Chicago-based report on Illinois Republican Gubernatorial candidate Bill Brady, NBC Chicago's Edward McClelland described suburban tea party events as "right-wing bloodfeasts."

They are painting conservatives as "the other" - in order to justify killing us.

The reason I asked the question was not to provoke unreasonable fear but rather, thought. Do they (the now-dominant Left) really intend to go that far? Murder is the ultimate consequence of hatred of "the other", a result of cruel passion untempered by reason. But other, less dire consequences of group hatred often precede physical violence: ridicule, marginalization, dispossession, and censorship among them. The Jews of Nazi Germany suffered all of these harms before Hitler decided on his "Final Solution".

Once again, I'm not directly equating our current Left with the Nazis nor attempting to project an historical inevitability. My point is that ideas have consequences, and that beliefs in time will always manifest themselves in action. Because the American Left is today so dominated by a philosophy of Feeling and the (necessary) negation of Reason, many of their numbers may not realize just where they are ultimately headed when they choose to view Conservatives not merely as political opponents but as beastly enemies of humanity.

Liberals now routinely ridicule and marginalize conservatives. They almost always employ some variation of the ubiquitous "racistsexistbigothomophobe" slur or the classic "rich-white-bastard-who-hates-the-poor-and-doesn't-care-about-the-children-and-wants-to-throw-Grandma-starving-into the street" appeal to idleness and envy. Increasingly, Obama's advisers and czars (say, wasn't that the title of the Russian guys who persecuted the J-... oh, never mind) call for higher taxes on wealth and for increased control of our communications media. And so I ask: what's next?

I would love to see each state's tea party people converge on their state capitols on a designated day before the November elections and hold prayer vigils.

You know, a nation-wide 'Right-Wing Bloodfeast' where we would give thanks for the blood of Christ that was shed for the sake of the reconciliation of man to God; where we would ask forgiveness and guidance for our nation, so that we might truly be one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all, and that God might bless America again.

However, the philosophy of the Buddha contributed nothing to American laws, customs, or culture. Hinduism contributed nothing to American laws, customs, or culture. Sharia contributed nothing to American laws, customs or culture (thank God!). Like it or not, the laws, customs and culture of America are directly derived from Christianity, and ultimately from Judaism. No non-Christian culture ever came up with the idea of the equality of all people, nor with the idea that there is a Power higher than the government. When we lose that, we've lost America.

Excellent points... Thanks for sharing.

It’s the logical conclusion of what they’re saying - and how they’re acting. They really do hate us - but we’re on to them. Radical liberal elites are going to have to find a different scapegoat - and then we’ll step up and protect that group. Next few years should be fun...

Of course you're right - but the fact that elite radical liberals choose not to "realize where they're ultimately headed" does not imply that we can't tell them where they're headed. It's our best defense.

For example - all those times we accused the MSM of working together against conservatives - and watching them roll their 'ever so superior eyes' in disbelief at our lack of sophistication - well, we were right. They were wrong - or lying - and we have the proof. JournoLists existed - four hundred powerful, interconnected journalists - working against us with hatred and malice. They were doing exacting what we were accusing them of... That episode peeled off a few real journalist who were forced to look at themselves in a new light. Maybe, just maybe ...

Some will stop rolling their eyes - not many - a few...

And it's got to be the same with the radical liberal elite's hatred of us ... and their ability to instill that hatred in minority groups. We need to speak the truth - in words and actions and love. And while you're scratching your head about the last comment - yeah, love.

More later...

I would love to see each state's tea party people converge on their state capitols on a designated day before the November elections and hold prayer vigils.

Seriously, for what purpose?

where we would ask forgiveness and guidance for our nation

I never fully understood this line of reasoning under traditional teachings of Scripture. From what I understand of the doctrines, repentance is individual and is required for individual salvation, not for the promise of lower taxes and less regulation. If the prayer is a request for guidance and personal wisdom, then I can see a benefit here, yet I don't see why that prayer needs to be put off until the day prior to a national election. Now would seem to be a good time to bend the knee.

...so that we might truly be one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all, and that God might bless America again...

That would require a Revival or another Great Awakening, and quite frankly, we don't have the Edwardses and Whitefields to preach that necessary message today - rather, the best we have is some middle aged Mormon apostate who is supposedly going blind.

So to counter your Peter the Hermit style post, I propose more of the Blue Bird of F'ing Joy: that we consider the strong possibilty that we are presently in God's End Game, in which case, praying for some sort of unmerited physical redemption for a spiritually bankrupt population seems incongruous with a Holy LORD who is presently harvesting the Elect in His Kingdom.

I submit that the US fulfilled its role in bringing prosperity and relative peace to the entire earth. Under the theory of the Upper Limits, the time of the Parousia is characterized to be similar to the days of Noah and the days of Lot. Among a number of other things, "giving in marriage", "buying and selling", "eating and drinking", "knowledge increasing", "moving to and fro" is now a global reality whereas it was only available in part to only the well civilized world. The role the West in general, and the US in particular performed was the charitable increase in global prosperity to make all of this a reality when compared to all previous history.

Where the upper limits kick in is recognizing that we are irreversibly entering into a global Thousand Years of Darkness marked by famine, disease, wars and cruelty. These are not the conditions of the Parousia. So either we are at the threshold now, or we are at least a thousand years off before the land fully vomits out the evil and the righteous can again prosper. In any case, I recommend conduct similar to the first century Church which focused primarily on "Being Ready" (Parable of 10 Virigins) where the definition of "being ready" is preparing your own spiritual household and then effectively evangelizing your neighbor.

If now is not the time, then life will still suck, probably even boxcars and ovens for those who are not Party Members; but at least the things that matter will be taken care of.

I understand the part abut “love” - it is a powerful force against the evil that tries to burrow its way into peoples’ souls; but sadly, it is of no use against those whose souls have already been consumed. For those whose natural empathy has been extinguished by hate, kindness is observed as weakness.

Seriously...?

Actually, no, it was an offhand comment made in response to the ridiculous characterization of tea parties as 'right-wing bloodfeasts'. I was shutting down my computer to leave for church. The thought occurred that thousands gathered in silent prayer, across the nation, giving thanks for the blood of Christ, and asking supplication for His guidance, would show him 'bloodfeast'. No "preachifying and speechifying", just a silent, prayerful demonstration of reverence, thanksgiving, and supplication to God.

I believe that no actions taken for restoration of the America we are losing will be successful without God's providential care. The founding and framing of our nation didn't happen without it, and the restoration won't happen without it. That requires something of us as individuals and as a nation. Don't know where you got the idea about 'putting off prayer', to the contrary, we should 'pray without ceasing' as this battle is fought.

However, in response to your post, these two articles by Wayne Jackson explain God's involvement with nations far better than I could hope to do.

God's Providential Use of Nations
