Sarah Palin went on the Sean Hannity show last night and did an interview where she states that she supports the Arizona law that will question suspected illegal aliens for their legal status papers if they are stopped for a crime.
There was one little tidbit that Palin let slip though that I am sure many people missed. Referring to illegal aliens Palin said "many of them want to come over here to find that Pathway to Citizenship they want".
Huh? Did I just miss something? I could have swore that in October 1998 Sarah Palin told Univision she was for a Pathway to Citizenship for illegal aliens.
Univision: To clarify, so you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants?
Sarah Palin: I do because I understand why people would want to be in America.
So something is amiss here. Palin is for a "Pathway to Citizenship" for illegal aliens, but then openly admits that illegal aliens are coming here for a "Pathway to Citizenship". It doesn't make logical sense, unless of course you actually want illegal aliens drawn to this country so that you can grant them an amnesty... err I mean a "Pathway to Citizenship".
And no I don't dislike Sarah as a person and think she looks great in the video. Better than she has in a while actually. Musta had a vacation. Maybe in sunny Cancun.
Watch the video below.

She is playing the game quite well.
The way I understand her position is that she first would secure the border, then begin some path to citizenship for illegals already here.
It’s a pretty main stream POV.
The smell of desparation is in the air.
You understand it perfectly. That is her plan.
If this is true, I cannot support Palin if she makes a bid for the presidency. That's a shame, because I used to be a big fan. Then came the McInsane endorsement...
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
I know. The cultists continue to desperately cling to McCain in a skirt.
What kind of "path"? If it doesn't involve packing them off back to their home countries to get in line, and try it again legally, then it's amnesty. And no slap-on-the-wrist fine will make it anything otherwise. If that's what happens, their crimes will have been rewarded.
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
And the stampedes will continue.
Lives in his mom's basement and can't tell the truth about anything.
Don’t need to “tell the truth”. Palin is telling it to your face.
I just wish someone would explain to me how in the hell 12,000,000 (and that’s conservative) Mexicans are going to be rounded up and “shipped” back to Mexico. That’s a lot of busses and a lot of tents at the border. Or are we going to go out and start beating pots and pans and herd them like rabbits down to the river and make them swim across.
Good question, I’ll splain it later, but I’ve got a meeting now.
Secure the borders. You cannot deal with those already here illegally without cutting off the endless supply of those wanting to enter illegally. Until the borders are secured, it is absurd to discuss additional guest worker programs and amnesty.
Fully implement the US-VISIT Program. There are over 4 million aliens now in illegal status, i.e., people who entered legally as tourists or students or temporary workers but did not leave when their visa expired. We need a system that tracks who enters and leaves the country and deport those who overstay their visas. More than 30% of our illegal alien population come from visa overstays.
Enforce existing laws against employers. Jobs are the magnets that attract illegal aliens. The governments failure to enforce existing laws against employers and to create a proper employee verification program must end. This essential tool for preventing the employment of illegal aliens should be made permanent and mandatory, especially at a time when close to 16 million Americans and legal residents are out of work.
Implement 287[g] nationwide. The federal government must provide state and local law enforcement with the training and access to databases to coordinate and leverage existing law enforcement assets to identify and deport illegal aliens who are committing crimes that have killed or injured tens of thousands of Americans.
Enact state and local laws to discourage illegal settlement. Eliminate sanctuary cities and other benefits that reward illegal aliens and legitimize their presence.
Streamline judicial processing and adjudication of immigration cases.
In the 1986 amnesty legislation, we tried amnesty without enforcement. Its time to try enforcement without amnesty.
This remark did it for me. So because we have a nice country that people want to come to, that means we should forgive the illegals? If a guy's driving a nice car and gets carjacked, should the carjacker get off scott-free because it's understandable that he would want such a nice car? I don't see what "understanding why they want to be here" has to do with anything. I can understand why the bank robber robs, the shoplifter steals, and the mugger holds people up. It's because they benefit from it, they get stuff. And we don't give them amnesty just because they're poor or because they might have kids. I say who gives a crap "why" or whether it's "understandable"? You don't let criminals get away with breaking the law and victimizing people! Period.
If the public understood that legalizing the status of the 12 to 20 million illegal aliens would permit them to sponsor at least another 66 million more LEGAL immigrants, amnesty would not stand a chance. John McCain and Barack Obama studiously avoided the term amnesty to describe their comprehensive immigration reform plans and despite the evidence, baldly declared that it was not an amnesty. Instead, they used such euphemisms as getting to the back of the line, an earned path to citizenship, and coming out of the shadows. The Democrats and pro-amnesty crowd know full well that the American people are against amnesty, hence the avoidance of the A word. Republicans need to develop their own immigration lexicon that cuts through this Orwellian use of language.
