The late sociologist Richard Cloward, was together with his wife, Frances Fox Piven, the originator of the famous Cloward Piven Strategy.
Allegedly adopted by ACORN; and other groups on the left, the strategy involved deliberately loading as many people as possible onto state welfare rolls, to the point of the system was bankrupted. Then the Federal Government would be forced to step in to take over local welfare provision.
According to Democratic Socialists of America's Democratic Left of Fall 2001, page 17;
In 1966, Richard helped found the National Welfare Rights Organization, the protest movement of poor women. Its goal of winning federalization of Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC) by building the local welfare rolls to create fiscal and political crisis very nearly succeeded. Instead, Congress granted fiscal relief to states and localities through a new federal relief program called Supplemental Security Income (SSI). SSI was one of the most important federal social policy innovations in the post-World War II period.It has long been known that Frances Fox Piven is a leading member of the marxist based; Democratic Socialists of America, however until now Cloward's affiliation to that organization has (to my knowledge) never been proven.
Here is the evidence that Richard A. Cloward too, was a D.S.A. member. From January/February 1991 issue, page 16;
Just confirming what many have long suspected. You saw it here first.

Frances Fox Piven was also a speaker and panelist at the recent Lefty event held in Detriot in June (I don’t recall the name).
She was part of something that was titled “Are Tea Parties Fascist?”.
I was surprised no one picked up on this.
“I was surprised no one picked up on this.”
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt weren’t involved, therefore it wasn’t newsworthy. wasn’t involved...and there was no Republican scandal...
Fox news should jump on this.
Yep! I have become a believer in the notion that THIS is exactly the strategy being used. I also believe is is inspired by pure evil.
Glenn Beck has been taking about these two turds for about 2 years now...where the hell were YOU!
That’s why I posted this.
The Cloward Piven Strategy is slow motion anarchy
Can someone get this to evil conservative? I do not know the correct spelling of her handle her at FR. I think its eeevil conservative but I am not sure.
For crying out loud, Obama isn't a member and we know what he is.
Here’s a great article on the Cloward/Pivan Plan from American Thinker from September 2008:

Not a member, but with direct ties. He has spoken at their meetings and their operatives are paid advisors in his administrations.

My point remains.......
Given the guy ran for the Illinois Senate on the New Party ticket candidate (Illinois’ name for the socialist party), already had the proof.
I agree, nobody needs proof, although it is nice to have...especially when arguing with liberals who say “Where is the proof that (INSERT LIBERAL NAME HERE) is a socialist?”
There are two threads yesterday, a dedicated thread by yoe at http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2558656/posts (see my post at #4 about this...it is a bit lengthy, but it links Cloward-Piven to what we have seen in the Subprime Mortgage Crisis.)
and another (Sunday Morning Talk Show Thread) with a comment by Seattle Conservative at #167 that touches direrctly on this subject: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2558636/posts
I used to be on the fence about Cloward-Piven. I thought they were just a couple of dessicated socialists/Marxists/hippies who wrote a white paper back in the Sixties, and that The Cloward-Piven strategy was bordering the domain of conspiracy theorist territory. I didn’t want to rule it out, but I thought it was pretty remote.
After what has happened in this country since the Community Reinvestment Act of 1977, I have landed solidly in the camp that believes this was a strategy used, and has put serious cracks in the very foundation of our government, building on what liberals have been doing in this country since 1900.
I understand your point, but Nachum is absolutely right on to post this.
We should all be shouting it from the rooftops.
We have a major problem in this. Most of never, ever thought this kind of thing was possible. But look, here we are.
We need, overwhelming, conclusive proof of all kinds that can be presented across the spectrum without making people’s eyes glaze over.
Just stating...what I thought was obvious.
Hate to tell you this...but even when you provide "proof"...their eye's still glaze over. Even Conservative minded folks...eye's go numb, and they fade off.
We can shout it here to our heart's content...but until the stupid party grabs the brass ring...and starts a campaign to EDUCATE the unwashed about the traitorous media, and their strangle hold on what is news, and what isn't..and what EXACTLY is going on in national politics...we will continue to slide down the slope.
