Video: Former Obama "Green Jobs" Czar tells the 2010 Netroots Convention that the U.S. has no lack of money to stop worrying about the deficit, because rich companies can be taxed. Who ya gonna to tax after the "elite" rich are driven to the poor house? (Note: Posted in "Bloggers & Personal" due to referenced external link)

Van Jones is your typical Communist.
Tax the companies into bankruptcy, then take them over as government enterprises.
Karl and Vlad are smiling from their graves.
does’nt matter. ain’t enough money left in the WORLD to fund the federal appetite.....
And to think, Meg Whitman was a big fan of Van Jones.
Good luck to California in November.
Several years ago in Germany...there was talk of this raise in corporate taxes...to fund various projects and fill the revenue bucket. The companies who would have been affected...stood up and suggested that they’d move corporate headquarters out of Germany. Over night...there was this mass discussion which eventually lead to a halt on the tax idea. If you had fifty of the top two hundred companies in Germany pack up and move their headquarters...then things would turn into a mess.
” The companies who would have been affected...stood up and suggested that theyd move corporate headquarters out of Germany.”
The haughty John F... Kerry gives a good lesson on this.
He parks his WIFE’s yacht in RI to avoid MA tax which is very high for Mr and MS Kerry’s play toy.
shrug
Who are they anyway?
Yeah, not doubt about that. And rich companies won’t try to compensate by, say, laying off employees, right? What puzzles me is why would anyone listen to Van Jones (and his ilk) about anything? What have they ever run successfully?
The only thing they’ve run is their mouth. Same thing with Obama. The man had run nothing, had no real accomplishments, and (aside from one co-sponsored bill) NO history of reaching across the aisle. But, he’s articulate, black, and makes speeches about “hope and change”—so lets make him President!
Honestly, we Americans have been stuck on stupid so long that deserve what we get. Sadly, those of us who don’t (myself and probably most FReepers) will be taken along for the ride.
The problem is most of these nutroots morons do not understand that you could impose the highest taxes possible on corporations and they’d never pay a penny of it. They’d either move out of the country, or just raise prices on everything they sell.
Yesterday David Gregory told Rick Santelli........
We’re not Greece, we can print money.
Were not Greece, we can print money.
You don't have to be a complete financial illiterate to work in the LSM, I suppose, but quite clearly it gives you a leg up.
David Gregory’s point may have been that the U.S. controls its own currency (unlike Euro-bound Greece) and can use inflation to quietly “refudiate” its debt. LBJ tried that in the 1970’s and it lead to the stagflation of the Carter era.
There is no magic bullet. Whatever we do will be painful. Inflation may be the most politically palatable alternative, but clearly the most dishonest and probably the most economically damaging. Outright repudiation might be healthier, because no one in his right mind would ever lend the U.S. Government a plug nickel for the next hundred years.
This Vlad is not in the grave, but smiles everyday when briefed about Obama's progress.
Not mine you commie racist... I’ll drive a stake through the heart of all I have built, before I let a wortheless black liberation theologist racist commie like you get a penny of my life’s earnings.

I think that pootie and obama should sign up for a Celebrity Death Match... Vince McMahon will MC and broadcast the PPV. Side bets allowed.

You have to be a good little journOlist and lie the lies you lie with a straight face.
First will be the ‘small’ vat tax. Sold as a simple easy painless way to solve all our problems. It will be sold by media brainwashing of the masses til the polls make it politically possible for the pocketicians to vote it in. It will barely pass and a few party hacks will be sacrificed but well compensated in other ways. Once in place it will be a new gold mine for the government.
My bet is that they will get it through by trading it for keeping the Bush tax cuts going for another year. They MUST have the VAT. I think they get it.
