I agree, and so do most of the columnists over at National Review, hardly a bastion of liberal group-think. Also, it reads much better than it was delivered. She a bit of a clumsy speaker, which didn't help her.

Thoughtful and intellectual conservatives have to show some intellectual honesty. Whatever the circumstances are (or are not) of her hiring, her firing was unfounded. Breitbart creates a situation where it will make it even easier for the MSM to ignore more important stories in the future.

Intellectual honesty includes the fact that IF AND ONLY IF we let the story die now is your above statement correct. IF AND ONLY IF we continue to dig and find the true nature of the players involved: Sherrod, Obama, Breitbart, Fox, NAACP, etc. will we get to the transparent truth that OUR SIDE is not the primary source of racists, theirs is.

If we quit now then they win and you are right. But if we fight this fight to the end then WE will win and you will be wrong.

Are you willing to continue fighting or will you RINO out on us and give up the fight, just going along to get along?

The NCAAP had her speech on tape all the time. They didn't have to depend upon Breitbart. Moreover, the 43 minute tape now on the NAACP site is more damning than the original when Sherrod goes into rant about Obamacare and the racist-based opposition to it.

Actually, given her “rich vs. poor” class warfare mentality as revealed in this speech, along with the fact that she’s an agent for a Governmental entity I don’t think should even exist with a budget that has been quoted at over $1B, I don’t have a problem with her firing. And that has nothing to do with any racism, or lack thereof, on her part.

I also think we need to know more about this lawsuit settlement with the agency that hired her. That’s clearly an odd thing.

Why are so many Freepers missing that this was never about Sherrod? Breitbart was exposing the NAACP’s REACTION to Sherrods story of racism.
