UK Facing Blackouts from Obama Energy, Environment Policies
Big Government ^ | July 19, 2010 | Christopher C. Horner

Today’s Daily Express (London) opens with a stark reminder that there are consequences to the foolishness being crammed down on you now — and which will be voted upon in the Senate, we are told, at the end of this month.

BRITAIN faces years of blackouts and soaring electricity bills because of the drive toward green power, a leading energy expert warned last night.

A growing obsession with global warming and “renewable” sources threatens the stability of our supply.

Derek Birkett, a former Grid Control Engineer who has a lifetime’s experience in electricity supply throughout Britain, warned that the cost of the crisis could match that of the recent banking collapse.

And he claimed that renewable energy expectations were now nothing more than “dangerous illusions” which would hit consumers hard in the pocket.

Yes. In fact, I just detailed this, with an emphasis on this particular UK canary in the coalmine of Obama’s energy, economic and environmental policies, in a book whose title may now come into a clearer focus: Power Grab: How Obama’s Green Policies Will Steal Your Freedom and Bankrupt America.

Coal, nukes, anything that works is shrugged off on the promise of building massive, mind-bogglingly expensive and wildly insufficient offshore windfarms, instead. Of course we will, dear. Worse, here we have an aggressive war to actually close down existing electricity generating capacity in precisely the same vein Obama is fighting in court to impose what the first judge to hear it called an irrational and economically devastating moratorium on offshore drilling. So, Power Grab opens almost as a more fleshed-out warning of the sort found in today’s coverage:

I have always thought that the best argument against this stuff was to ask people simple questions, like:

Do you like having your lights come on when you flip a switch?
Do you like to be warm in your home in the winter?
Do you like to be cool, on hot days in the summer, at your place of work?
Do you like to sign-on to your computer at home any time you want and be connected to the internet?

Simple questions like that. And then explain that using these ridiculous "green" energy providers is going to take all of that away.

Now, I don't believe that any facts will get in the way of the Obama administration shoving this garbage down our throats anyway.

Get ready. The democrats last big money and power grab will be Cap and Tax. 10+ trillion in new taxes masquerading as “saving the planet”.

Phase 1 to be rammed through around Aug - Sept. Groundwork will be set in the Obama energy bill.

Then after the Nov elections, the lame-duck congress will vote for an expanded cap and trade scheme including the green lighting of the CCX, the carbon trading floor in Chicago, whose financial backers include Al Gore’s Generation Investment Management group, Goldman Sachs, Obama inner circle (Joyce Foundation), and some old time Clintonistas like Ex-CEO of Frannie Mae, Franklin Raines.

Senators up for reelection in 2012 and 2014 need to be reminded that, although the lame ducks who lost their jobs for voting for this trash have nothing left to lose, they do (and will). E.g. Bob Casey in Pennsylvania.

It’s going to be the same as when Bart “30 pieces of silver” Stupak sold out his “pro-life” legacy by selling his yes vote for Obama care, in exchange for a bunch of pork for his district.

Any lame-duck dems voted out/retiring from congress will sell that cap and trade vote for the promise of a cushy public sector job by the whitehouse or within the carbon trading investors companies, or a huge pork payout to their district.

Watch.

CO2 regulation must not pass. It is the last of the progressive socialist and the One World Governance (G8, G20, G70) need in place to control industry, our individual rights and make our Constitution useless.

Petition our government to declare CO2 a non pollutant.

The biggest uses of energy are keeping warm in the winter and transportation. If we want to have fresh food all year, if we want to work where we are happy and productive instead of the neighborhood sweat shop, and if we want to keep our pipes from freezing, then we need fossil fuels or a large number of nukes.

Also ask people how many new nukes are being built? If they guess 50, then they are right. How many of those are in North America? None, a couple in Canada are being refurbished.

CO2 regulation must not pass.

Too late, it already passed when the Senate voted to let the EPA do it via back door methods. I can thank my two idiot senators Webb and Warner for that. Never have I heard such crap from politicians as when they explained their votes.

I'm sure that Angry Ben and the Fat Red Dwarf (Marxists - MD) also voted to allow the EPA to regulate CO2. Socialism is practically in their DNA.

What this article barely hints at is that once the power fails on a regular basis, the two legged animals come out. Their will be widespread anarchy and loss of jobs and even the reduced comforts of life The whole fabric of civilized life will quickly break down.

“Too late, it already passed when the Senate voted to let the EPA do it via back...”

The EPA can be forced back into court to prove CO2 is a pollutant and what harm it can cause . This is something the EPA does not want to happen.

So again I say petition Congress to declare CO2 a non pollutant.

This was a comment posted at UK article

Britian's politicians slavishly follow the rules laid down by the EU. The EU demands that Britain commit itself to wind and solar power as a way to reduce Global Warming, and thats how it is.

The push on this in the US also seems to be from globalists and UN. Obama keeps pushing agenda to make us like Europe.
