Everyone is well aware of how the NAACP jumped out of the woodworks and is throwing charges of “racism” in the direction of the Tea Party, but the funny thing about this accusation is the people who are front and center doing the mudslinging lack the ability to hold together a consistent and plausible story. Case in point: Hilary Shelton.
Earlier this week Shelton, the Director to the NAACP’s Washington Bureau and Senior Vice President for Advocacy and Policy, went on national television. When he was asked if he’s ever attended a Tea Party rally he admitted that despite his claims of racism, that he has never been to one.
Just three days later, on national television once again, Shelton claimed that he, indeed, attended the Tea Party rally in which people “spit” on one of the black congressmen all while screaming the “n-word” at the group — or the “Kill the Bill” rally.

These people aren’t interested in getting their stories straight. They just want them OUT there, circulating among the morons who support them and vote for democrats.
What is a “bold faced lie?” I know what a bald faced lie is, but not a bold faced one...
Why should they bother getting their story straight? The Corporate Media won’t call them on it!

I did not hear the man lie, he said he had not been to a tea party rally, but he was at the capital when a rally was going on. I don’t see an issue with that, it is more like making a mountain out of a mole hill.
There are plenty of legitimate problems for us to tackle.

The more correct term is "bald-faced lie" or "bare-faced lie" (bare is more common in Great Britain). It refers to a "shameless" or "brazen" lie. One where the teller does not attempt to hide his face while telling it.
It's just the last 5 yrs or so that "bold" has come into usage. It refers to typeface. It is used metaphorically in speech. In the same way that a typesetter uses bold face type to highlight specific text and set it apart, a bold face lie stands out in such a way as to not be mistaken for the truth.

The phrase can either be used as bold-faced lie, as in someone with a bold enough face to lie (bold meaning daring) or someone bold enough to lie to your face; it can also be used as bald-faced lie, where the older meaning of bald (meaning uncovered or unconcealed) - the more correct usage with this term is bare-faced lie.
I was there that day and took video of the CBC passing by both times, and can say (with proof) I never heard the N-word.
