Obama and the New York Knicks: Why Unlimited Spending Is Not the Answer

It may sound a bit bizarre but President Obama’s radical vision on how to deal with the current state of America has been exhausted copiously and with resounding failure by the New York Knicks. Now I understand that preliminarily it may seem a bit outlandish, but bear with me and hopefully in due course we’ll be seeing eye to eye.

What has been Obama’s motto, the reverberating dictum that he’s been trying to shove down our throats since he took the oath? Spending will create jobs, spending will boost the economy, spending will bail us out of any financial crisis, spending, spending, spending is all we’ve heard. We were basically told that spending would bail us out of everything short of obesity and a lack of self- confidence.

The country is so deep in debt that it’s not inconceivable to think that at some point down the road a lawsuit will be brought against Obama for running the biggest ponzi scheme in the history of the world using taxpayer money. Bernie Madoff himself would blush fiercely at the audacity of a scheme that could be done so publicly and on such a ridiculously grand scale.

Lets take a look at the recent history of the Knicks. In the years leading up to the 21st century they had one of the better teams in the league and were a lock for the playoffs every year. Every game was sold out, and Madison Square Garden was the place to be on nights that the Knicks were in town.

The last decade took a catastrophic turn spiraling the franchise into the most abysmal decade of their existence. What caused this disastrous era of basketball in NYC and how are the Knicks preventing it from occurring again? Mr. Obama may want to listen up...
