Sarah Palin On The Factor with the annoying Bill O'Reilly. He asks & interrupts President Palin discussing Illegal Immigration & Stopping Obama
(Excerpt) Read more at governorpalin4president.blogspot.com ...
Only a few can do that and I guess I am one of them. It was in jest. It is pretty funny how the liberals did it to Obama and now FREEPERS are doing it to Sarah. I guess Sarah may run but I swear that Hillary was going to be the Democratic Nominee and in comes Obama. I would not put a guarantee on anything for 2012 or 2016. Thing NEVER go as planned.
“...He asks & interrupts President Palin...”
So why haven’t any conservatives with money created a truly conservative news network?
If she can’t do any better than that against BOR, she’s certainly not presidential material.
Good to see Palin having her say on this issue. In all fairness, her position is no different from Romney's.
I generally can’t stand O’Reilly and love Palin, but he did a good job of getting her to say what many here have feared: that as she has said there is no distance between her and McCain on immigration policy.
First she tried to avoid answering what she’d do with the illegal aliens here, even after the border was secured. She tried to filibuster by simply repeating how important it was to secure the border. O’Reilly forced her to move beyond that. Then she said repeatedly that the illegals wouldn’t get off ‘free’. Finally she said that she would deport those who failed to register, but that those who did register would be allowed to stay and work here as part of comprehensive immigration reform.
She tried to cushion the blow of her position by saying that Americans needed to get the first whack at jobs, but the reality is that with all those illegals in the market low-end wages are only dropped lower and lower. (And of course, there are all those societal and governmental costs of services provided to illegals working at such low wages. That is, the taxpayers in reality subsidize many, many illegals—and Palin isn’t going to change that.) Finally, she tried to hide behind Ronald Reagan with the position that he had the right idea with the amnesty back in the 80’s, only he didn’t succeed in verifying instead of trusting that the border would actually be closed.
Unfortunately there is not likely to be a mainstream candidate with a markedly better position on illegal immigration, though if there were I’d support him or her. Our best bet may be to try to get through to her on the importance of this issue and on her getting right on it. Still more unfortunately I don’t think there’s that much chance of getting her to change her positions on anything, since here it cuts against us.
I suppose I am also in this minority club that enjoys Bill’s show. Yes he is a boorish, arrogant individual, but sometimes I think he takes a ‘devil’s advocate’ role just to make the exchange interesting. I get none of that with Hannity; his show has become extremely trite, and like someone said, the great great great American Panel (I cringe at that name) is so tedious that I have to turn it off.
My take on O’Reiley: I don’t always agree with him, but he attempts to pin his guests down for their opinions, and will do whatever it takes to get there. Palin continues to be a lightweight to me, and I will never get over the fact that she quit her elected job.
Did you see Palin’s interview with O’Reilly on illegal immigration? She just showed her true colors. When asked what she would do with the 12 million already hear, she started to say let’s look at case history and see what the Hero Ronald Reagan did. O’Reilly then interrupted her and said that Reagan botched that, at which point Palin made an about face and said, “you are correct.” It’s just amazing, she just proved on National TV that she talks off the top of her head, here she was ready to use Reagan as an example of what to do and when O pointed out that this was one of Reagan’s mistakes, Palin did a 180. The woman’s pathological. I loved Reagan, but I know he botched it on this topic, he gave amnisty to the illegals. Apparently, Palin didn’t know that but was ready to cite his name as an example of someone who handled the problem well. She did a 180 degree turn in mid sentence. This was absolutely dispicable and shows what a pathological woman she is. She doesn’t even know what being a Christian is because she is driven by pure ambition, ready to do or say whatever she thinks will get her into the White House, when SHE DOESN’T EVEN KNOW WHAT SHE IS TALKING ABOUT!!!!!
“and I will never get over the fact that she quit her elected job.”
I happen to like that about her, actually, its one of the things I really do like about her.
I am turned off by folks who are elected to a position, and then spend half their term running for a higher office, not serving those they were elected to serve, while collecting a tax-payer paycheck and using their current office to finance a run for another office.
I know alot of folks don’t agree with my point of view.
She sounded like McCain, Obama and the rest.. I was disappointed
The reason why O was interrupting Palin is because she has a habit of meandering in her comments making it sound like she is answering when she isn’t even saying anything. People are complaining all over the internet that Fox just lets her do her rambling without any follow up questions. Fox News Credibility is on the line because they are starting to seem like they have made it their mission to get Palin elected by handling her with kid gloves. People don’t like it because it is unfair. I have stopped writting on the FreeRepublic for a long time because I got tired of saying the same stuff over and over. People have a right to like who they want to, but meanwhile, O is a little concerned about his own reputation. This guy was a Harvard Education English Teacher. It matters to him if he has credibility. He can’t allow Palin to continue to destroy his reputation. You might not like to hear it, but it’s the truth. You can also vote for Palin, that’s you right, but facts are facts.
Sarah is just being Sarah. You can’t change that, one percenters. Besides, she’s right on immigration. Who else are you going to support? Romney? Obama?
While I may politely disagree with your opinion, I am totally supportive of your freedom to express it! I suppose our system has turned most politicians into full time campaigners, you are right about that. Perhaps she could have broken the mold though and just managed as an executive for the last two years with no goal to run again.
I guess it just bothered me that people gave their money, time, sweat, etc to support someone that they thought would serve what they understood as a term in office as it is defined.
“I guess it just bothered me that people gave their money, time, sweat, etc to support someone that they thought would serve what they understood as a term in office as it is defined.”
Exactly. That is how I feel when a politician takes an office, then campaigns for another office.
Same condiment, different brand I guess.
I just think it a bit more noble to step aside if you are going to run for something else, especially if it is a full time job. Let someone else run things, and stop using our tax dollars and your current position for self promotion.
Both are probably self serving. I guess I would have just been happier if McCain had quit his senate job to run for president!
Plus, many of these politicians (here in Illinois) have no intention of actually winning a higher officer, but they run for that office to build warchests, which they later may use for their own personal enjoyment after the campaign.
Its crooked. Its double dipping. It turns me off.
I wouldn’t be happy if one of my employees decided to find another job, while working for me, on my time, getting a paycheck from me.
Heck, if you want to work somewhere else, fine, but don’t expect to do it on my clock, with me paying you an hourly wage to do so. I guess that’s what I’m getting at.
You make some good points. Politicians seem to be the only group of people who can totally ignore their current jobs while spending all their time getting another one. You are so right; if you put it in the everyday terms like you did, my buttocks would be fired in a NY second!
