He’s the one that can’t find Hawaii on a globe. Idiot...
Sad how this no talent hack got an extra hour over at CNN.
but they do have ratings, Rick. More hate the rich rhetoric.
Pray for America
I don't think anyone that stupid has ANY right to criticize or comment on intelligence.
this coming from a guy who got wasted, got behind the wheel and killed an innocent man..Only CNN could hire a murderer..maybe they should hire OJ..complete the set
borrachón back on the sauce?

I could go on, but you get the drift. Conservative talk radio is typically backed up by experts in economics, politics, law, international relations, military strategy, etc. It isn't (usually) full of touchy-feely situational ethics and appeals to your emotions. Conservative talk radio is the source for the real story. Check your local AM stations, or get XM and go straight to 166.

Our longstanding love-hate relationship with former WSVN turned CNN anchor Rick Sanchez continues, and as it does more often than not, it’s veering more toward hate at the moment.
This weekend he got a chance to break out of his Twitter-addicted regular show on CNN, to host some of the network’s coverage of the earthquake on Chile, and uh, it was pretty painful. In the clip above he apparently thinks Hawaii is located off the coast of Peru.
But it only got worse.
In this clip he asks a scientist, “Nine meters in English is what?”
We just ran the phrase through Google translator, and apparently “nine meters” in English roughly translates to “nine meters.”
Then from Mediate, here is his explanation of tsunamis which seems to be aimed at children but actually left us more confused. Somehow, even in context, the “nine meters” gaffe comes off even worse.

I’m so glad I wasnt the only one who thought so! It was painful to watch! How does this man have his own show much less work for CNN?! He’s so annoying and rude!!

Dan Poremba says:
The guy went into over-load and then melt down, if one paid attention, CNN pulled him off the story just before his head exploded on camera.

I was so glad they pulled him off the air. He was getting more and more arrogant, obnoxious and stupid as each second passed. I was glad we didn’t have to watch his head explode, but I was sad for the meteorologist who was practically scolded like a child whilst trying to explain what was happening with the tsunami. Apparently his explanation wasn’t ‘dumbed down’ enough for that CNN jerk.

That guy is a total jackhole and needs to be removed permanently from CNN. Don Lemon rocks.

Wow,
I am not that familar with Rick Sanchez but my jaw just dropped as this guy made such a fool of himself this weekend. I felt sorry for the people on set with him . Was he called in as the only spanish speaking person available? The fact that he could have said things in so many different ways and exploded with rudness instead proves he needs to be sent back to the “minors”. I thank the person(s) who sent him home..

Umm, hello, Sanchez is from South Florida, home of some of the rudest, most obnoxious and stupid people in the US. No offense, of course. :)

Why are any of you watching CNN and the DRUNK DRIVER KILLER Sanchez? Must be because MSHUSSEIN was showing the 200 million dollar loss aka Olympic’s.

WOW I thought it was just me for the past month Rick has sounded like its all about him instead of the news. He is hard to watch as I find myself trying to remove Rick from whats he is saying. he wants you to notice him more then the news. Rick, Rick give us and yourself a break. Wally

I watched this live and thought Sanchez was in the midst of a manic episode. This guy is so grating that I turn the channel as soon as I hear his voice. I said at the time, “this guy needs to be removed from the air”, I can’t believe they actually did it. I agree with Adam from Boston, Don Lemon is a consumate professional, Rick Sanchez is a pompous hack. Please CNN, for the love of all that is holy, end his career.

Jacqueline Morales says:
I totally agree. I also watched this. Rick Sanchez should not be on CNN. I do not know how he got his own news show on CNN. He thinks he knows what he is talking about and he doesn’t. He always asks stupid questions to others on the set at the time.
And sometimes they do not have an answer because they do not know how to answer a stupid question.

MB POPO says:
He must have been drunk, again! He always has been and always will be a total and complete ASSHOLE. Typical of our South Florida alumni, however. Maybe next time he gets drunk he will kill himself in an accident instead of some innocent passerby.

Jonathan from Miami said:
This is the same Rick Sanchez who (on WSVN) used to be the butt of jokes and actually knelt on a huge map of the Middle East to show everyone (including himself) the location of Iran and Iraq. [That would make a great clip for Jon Stewart.] Of course, he was promoted—the Peter Principle (where employees attain their highest level of
incompetence)survives.

Sidney Hartha says:
Sanchez is an ignorant blowhard and shows it just about every time he opens his mouth. I’ll bet his Spanish is a bad as his English, too. Hear his “ECKcetera and ECKcetera” above? His Hawaii/Galapalos boner wasn’t his only island mishap during this misbegotten coverage—he apparently thinks Robinson Crusoe Island was named after the famous Italian tenor.
Could cutting off his arms be the answer? I’m sure he couldn’t speak without them.

cinesimon says:
Whilst I agree Sanchez is a bit of a plonker, I note with interest that you guys are piling on him, and reminiscing about his terrible drunk driving incident - yet there are NO comments following the article entitled ‘Banana Republican’ about your local administrators/politicians who’re still driving drunk, a violent cop still on the beat and in charge of firearms despite court & restraining orders - yet going by the reactions, your concern is over a TV personality?
Priorities, huh?
Or do dirty republicans and cops get away with far more than a TV personality, simply because your politics are more in line?

to_cinesimon says:
Typical red herring argument from someone on the left. In case you haven’t noticed, this article is about Rick Sanchez’s terrible job covering the quake this weekend, not corrupt politicians or police officers. Your point is moot because it has nothing to do with the article or any of the comments posted.
Do some research on logical fallacies and maybe you’ll realize how two-faced your argument is.

It’s relief to hear that I’m not the only one who cringes every time that Sanchez blowhard/murderer comes on TV. He’s been grating my nerves for the last 2 years. I just can’t believe that a prestigious company like CNN could be so clueless as to give this guy a contract, and allow him to play such a major role in their programming. Is it all about having an obvious latino presence? Who cares? The guy’s an IDIOT!!! DUH!! Are they asleep at the wheel? What’s going on down there in Atlanta? Do we need to rise up with pickaxes and shovels and take over CNN just to get this fool off the air???
I agree that Don Lemon is a great newsman, but never mind him... what about Tony Harris??? He’s even better. What’s he up to now? Why isn’t he doing Sanchez’s job? I just don’t get it.

It’s nice to see so many others realize what a fool this guy is. I was not familiar with Sanchez until I started watching the news on the BP oil spill. Immediately I though, “this guy is an idiot!” Watching him take off his glasses and putting them back on, trying to strike an intelligent looking pose just made me sick. I could go on and on but most of the other posts have already covered what a moron he is. I pity the people that have to work with him. I found it amusing to watch him try to take apart a pen to get the spring out the other night - once he failed at that complicated task, he tried to direct the attention from himself by barking at a co-worker and asking him if he had a spring handy! The part that really gets me is that CNN, a supposedly reputable source for news have a clown like this working for them! Surely such a big company can find a better anchor - someone out of high school would be a better choice. Sadly, the weather guy (Chad Myers?) is not much better and after watching this cast of idiots for the last few weeks I can’t take any more, I am looking for another news source.

Is CNN still wondering why the uneducated masses aren’t watching their network?
