In the runoff, Gowdy defeated Inglis in a massive landslide, receiving 71 percent of the vote to Inglis’ 29 percent.

On December 27, 2008 Inglis published an op-ed in The New York Times in support of a revenue neutral carbon tax.[3]

Inglis’s 2010 Republican primary opponents have asserted that his voting record in his second House spell has been more moderate than his first.
