VIDEO: Arizona Sheriff Gets Death Threats

Pinal County, AZ Sheriff Paul Babeu has been on the front lines to secure the U.S.-Mexico border against drug cartels and human smugglers, and now is the target of death threats as reported by KSAZ:

Outside law enforcements have been brought in to investigate the threats and have found them credible. Chief Deputy Steve Henry said some of the threats come from the Mexican mafia and drug cartel members. Sheriff Babeu declined personal security detail. He decided not to request funding for security detail at this time, because the county resources are already stretched.

The President insists "the border is as safe as it ever has been" but even if it's not Obama says there's nothing he can do about it anyhow as reported by Jordy Yager for The Hill: "our borders are just too vast for us to be able to solve the problem." If President Obama cannot secure his own homeland against pervasive organized crime -- the drug cartels have supply lines, distribution networks and operational cells in more than 230 cities throughout the United States, and they control the flow of illegal immigration along the same smuggling routes -- then his overseas effort in Afghanistan is doomed where the challenges are far greater and the enemy is far more fierce. The inability of the United States to win in Afghanistan conclusively is demonstrated by our failure to win the more important battle to secure our own border.

If President Obama cannot won't secure his own homeland against pervasive organized crime...

In his 6/15/2010 speech from the Oval Office, Obama said in part "All of these approaches have merit, and deserve a fair hearing in the months ahead. But the one approach I will not accept is inaction. The one answer I will not settle for is the idea that this challenge is somehow too big and too difficult to meet. You know, the same thing was said about our ability to produce enough planes and tanks in World War II. The same thing was said about our ability to harness the science and technology to land a man safely on the surface of the moon. And yet, time and again, we have refused to settle for the paltry limits of conventional wisdom. Instead, what has defined us as a nation since our founding is the capacity to shape our destiny -– our determination to fight for the America we want for our children. Even if we’re unsure exactly what that looks like. Even if we don’t yet know precisely how we’re going to get there. We know we’ll get there."

Securing the border has nothing to do with our inability to accomplish it. It has everything to do with the intention by this administration to not do anything about it. And this is evidenced by his gulf rhetoric compared to his inaction and in-attendance there as well.

The man cares nothing about America or Americans. It's all about global power, and under him America will be diminished to its proper role.

Will Obama sponsor another ‘beer summit’?

Will Obama ignore the seriousness of this threat and simply wait for the Sheriff, an American citizen, to be murdered?

What bit of phony theatrics will Obama use and who will he blame?

If that Sheriff gets murdered, there are not enough Secret Service folks to keep Obama from harms way.... no where near enough.

"Justice is the one thing you should always find
You got to saddle up your boys
You got to draw a hard line
When the gun smoke settles we'll sing a victory tune
We'll all meet back at the local saloon
We'll raise up our glasses against evil forces
Singing whiskey for my men, beer for my horses"

"our borders are just too vast for us to be able to solve the problem."

Only a couple of failed states can't secure their border. Even Iraq is guarding its borders now, for a good reason, and their land border is 2268 miles long! That's longer than the US-Mexico border (1933.4 miles.) What does that tell about the USA? That we can't post 10,000 soldiers in three or four shifts to watch the border? An efficient border protection force won't even need that many men.

Sheriff Babeu declined personal security detail.

If I worked for this Sheriff, I'd like him to publicly state that he declines a personal security detail. I'd then organize all the other deputies to covertly cover him around the clock and take out (you know, shot while resisting arrest) the hit men when they tried for him.
