While waiting for more details in the new Russian SpyGate and the money-laundering that was involved I remembered 1992 soviet movie about the cooperation between the KGB and the CIA in the world after the cold war. ‘Weather is good on Deribasovskaya, It Rains Again on Brighton Beach’ begins with the following dialog between Gorbachev and Bush 41: Gorbachev: Good evening Mr. President.

Bush: It is still morning here, Mr. President.

Gorbachev: let’s hope this is the only difference between our countries…

Bush: Our tax-payers are protesting. They worry about the activities of the Russian mafia in the USA. Gorbachev: Let’s exchange data: who is this Russian mafia.

Bush: Your immigrants. The Russian mafia is now bigger than the Italian Cosa Nostra and the Japanese Yakuza.

Gorbachev: May be you are overreacting, may be…

Voice: I am sorry to interrupt, Presidents, but how long do you plan to stay on this line, I need to call Odessa.

Bush: My God, who is this?

Voice: What do you mean who? Rabinovich!

Bush: What Rabinovich? Where are you from?

Voice: what do you mean where from? Rabinovich from the Russian mafia!

Gorbachev: Listen Comrade… Mister Rabinovich, don’t you understand it is a top secret hot line?

Voice: Secret? Hot? Have you ever tried to connect with Odessa with the regular line?

I am sorry but I will turn the call off!

In the scene that follows is a meeting between the two intelligence agencies in Russian steam room. Warning! hot dancers. Don’t miss the Soviet super-agent at the end of the video – he has quite a spy gear.
