Lonnie Tinsley of El Reno, Oklahoma made a nearly fatal mistake last December 22 when he went to check on his grandma, Lona Vernon.
Concerned that Lona hadn’t taken her medications, Lonnie called 911 in the expectation that an emergency medical technician would be dispatched to the apartment to evaluate the bedridden 86-year-old woman.
Instead, that call for help was answered by nearly a dozen armed tax-feeders employed by the El Reno Police Department.
Understandably alarmed — and probably more than a little disgusted — by the presence of uninvited armed strangers in her home, Lona ordered them to leave. This directive, issued by a fragile female octogenarian confined to a hospital-style bed and tethered to an oxygen tank, was interpreted as “aggressive” behavior by Officer Thomas Duran, who ordered one of his associates : “Taser her!”

Fabulous, the cops could very well have started an out of control fire with those tasers.
Good God, the woman is attached to pure oxygen and the cops conveniently supply an ignition source?
Nevermind tasing a little old bed ridden lady, they could have incinerated the entire complex.
This is beyond stupid.
A 1911 is much more efrfective than a 911 any day of the week! :)

Well... I just don’t buy the story and I didn’t when it was originally posted either. Twelve cops all respond to a simple welfare check call? What? I don’t think so. Obviously there’s something huge that’s missing from the story.
Read the dang court papers in the prior link if you doubt this version of it.

Not an easy complaint to read. I wouldnt want to be the cop’s lawyer and have granny take the stand.
So, you visit your grandmother and determine an emergency medical person should show up, so you call 911 and ten armed cops show up without a ambulance and storm into the home, take you outside and cuff you while firing multiple tasers at your invalid grandma while cutting off her oxygen, and you would say, “Bless those men!” like the idiot jailee in “Life of Brian”? Oh, and the grandma had to spend a week in a mental institution for this intrusion?
You are freaking out of your mind if you don’t sue.

Stories like this one sure provide a s**tton of ammo for far left activists like Moveon.org, ACORN, Black Panthers and even the rap industry, ever since the days of NWA’s F**k Tha Police, when they cry out incessantly of America as a haven for police brutality.
Of course, it should be used as evidence for why ordinary Americans need to discover the basic means to defend themselves, and NOT blindly rely on police.
