Great read. And I’ve been referring to Obama as the living embodiment of the Peter Principle for some time now. Yeah, rise to the level of your own incompetence, you sonofagun. You’re definitely there now.

I disagree with the author as to Obama’s “Peter point.” I think his Peter point was admission to Columbia University. If his records are ever uncovered, I expect to find that Obama was admitted under a program intended to increase the number of foreign students, which was a fashionable trend at the elite universities in those days, and probably also received financial aid on that basis. Every move up after that was an affirmative action promotion past his Peter point.

Obama’s incompetence was manifested to my mind earlier in the Haiti response. He never grasped the magnitude or the immediacy of the aid that was required, and therefore never mobilized the resources necessary to get the seaport functioning within the first several days, which could have supplied large refugee camps. Instead, we saw the bottleneck develop at the airport and weeks of delays during which many Haitians became vulnerable to disease and crime. The MSM prefers not to criticize the first black President, and would never do so in the context of a disaster response with respect to a black country, so his poor leadership performance in the Haitian earthquake response was never examined in the mainstream media.

Also, the proximate cause of the BP explosion based on what has come out so far appears to be not the BOP, but rather a risky approach to the casings in the lower part of the well and a shoddy cement job, in order to save a relatively small amount of money and time. The BOP was a failsafe system that should not have been needed if the well was properly drilled.

Great writer. Right on point. Needs an editor/proof reader.

“Nevermind” is the title of an album, not a word.

Stopped because the Coast Guard hadn't ascertained that there were enough life preservers and fire extinguishers on the barges. Ridiculous, or worse, criminally negligent.

WAKE UP AMERICA

Out of respect for 2ndDivisionVet and other honorable unsung Heroes on this one;

I will refrain from the usual (albeit appropriate) gratuitous McShame insults about him being the little pecker he is, regarding real life comparisons of Peter and the Principle of Incompetence.

Perhaps, in God’s mercy, this presidency will be the apex, epitome, and end-point of “affirmative action.” Maybe, we’re on our way back to sanity?

He had his Nobel Prize-winning Energy Secretary Steven Chu heading up this team of undefeatable technocrats. As an aside, this is the same Nobel organization whose "Peace Prize" has been given to Yassir Arafat <\i>

The Peace Prize is not given by the same folks as the science prizes. It is given by politicians. From their website: "The Norwegian Nobel Committee is responsible for the selection of eligible candidates and the choice of the Nobel Peace Prize Laureates. The Committee is composed of five members appointed by the Storting (Norwegian parliament). The Nobel Peace Prize is awarded in Oslo, Norway, not in Stockholm, Sweden, where the Nobel Prizes in Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine, Literature and the Economics Prize are awarded."

I disagree with the author as to Obama’s “Peter point.”

My thoughts exactly.

The better comparison? Obama is a trojan horse - someone built him up and placed him in the oval office. Everything that is in him has been let loose to try and destroy our Constitutional Republic.

Well then, perhaps the American voter has reached HIS level of incompetence.

Arguably Obama had his “Peter Principle” moment as a US senator, or even as a state representative. Hence all the “present” vortes and the constant image-building.

But enough Americans fell for it, to our country’s eternal shame.

I never fully realized how “educated” and “civilized” societies could willingly embrace shuch dangerous leaders until now.

I hope people are waking up. Better late than never.

I don't think Obama was a very competent Senator, but given the state of that body it's not an easy thing to divine. I would say that it became obvious he was in over his head at the Saddleback Forum where he could not answer the simplest of questions. The voters showed they were past their ‘peter point’ when they elected him anyway.

I was taking a series of psych courses back when Dr Peter’s book hit the booksellers, and I was—still am—impressed with it.

America took the unprecedented step of electing to its highest office a man with no previous executive experience Did John Kennedy have executive experience?

Like Kerry, he commanded a boat.

Perhaps if Obama had done that he'd at least know what to do on a sinking ship.

Possibly this president is a refutation of the Peter Principle in that he rose way beyond his level of incompetence? Peter Principle would seem to indicate that he should have stuck at the level of state politician.
