What a nut job. I would be surprised if she goes postal one day.

When you call someone mentally ill in print seems to me the only defense against libel is to be able to produce a doctor’s diagnosis. Possessing a doctor’s diagnosis without the permission of the DR and subject is illegal too. This guy is hosed.

I remember Debbie Schussel. My totally uninformed opinion is that she yearned to join Coulter, Malkin, even Melanie Morgan, and others on the top tier of conservative female pundits. When it didn’t come to pass she became bitter and defensive.

A paragraph or two of the average Debbie Schlussel column should convince anyone that she is indeed insane.

I do not live near Debbie Schlussel, but have read some stuff that she wrote about a specific FBI agent in charge in Detroit that seems both accurate and troubling. I have even posted some of it here on FR in context of the militia “goobers” who where arrested by the FBI recently.
Is she “unstable”? I do not have a clue, but she obviously does not have a lot of use for radical Islam, nor it’s protectors/apologists.
Will spend a little time looking at other subject matter she has written. At this point, my opinion of her writing is not negative. But I have not been targeted by her. I have been “targeted” by some lefties before, and do not like their distortion and lies.

I enjoyed (and agreed) with her writings until she went off the deep end. She’s just been wacky lately. i won’t read her at all anymore.

You know, I’m no doctor, but I have to imagine any psychiatrist could diagnose her with paranoid personality disorder based solely on her writing.

When it didnt come to pass she became bitter and defensive. She has a photo of herself on her blog from about 10 years ago when she was normal weight. Now that's she's gone stark raving mad, she's just a fat, bleached blonde Ann Coulter wannabe with 1/2 the brains and double the body mass of Ann Coulter.
Anyone who calls Dennis Praeger, Michael Medved and Mark Levin anti-semites has lost absolutely all credibility and belongs with the tinfoil hat crowd.

No. Anybody can allege anyone else is mentally ill because "mentally ill" is just another way of saying someone is "freaking nuts," "off his [her, in this case] rocker," "out of his mind," "out to lunch," "two rocks short of a full sack," etc, all of which are characterizations people can freely make without any fear of libel because these are qualitative judgments anyone can have of anyone else. Nobody takes them in the same way as alleging in print that someone has stolen $50,000 or set fire to a neighbor's house or had sex with an elderly blind hippo. This is because the characterizations regarding the mental/emotional state of another is usually a description or perception of the speaker's experience with that person and subject to the "I've got a good self image, you're vain, he's an egomaniac" rule of characterizing others.

My opinion about here will be shaped by whatever comes out of the accusations she has made about Detroit FBI Special Agent-in-Charge Andrew Arena. (concerning the charges and arrest of the “goobers” in the Hutaree militia.)
She has been the only person I have seen questioning that ruse.
If here criticism is accurate about him, I support her.

I could send you a response I got from her to a positive email I sent her thanking her for a review of Inglorious Basterds that would convince you of the same thing.

Although I have a feeling her vicious streak has pre-dated her ambition.

That’s the problem. She may be absolutely correct about that but she’s blown her credibility in a lot of other ways.

She should marry John Stossel and change her name to Debbie Schlussel-Stossel.

I hope she doesn’t read Mark’s Facebook page, from where I got the link to this article. He called her a nut job(and she is).
