In a speech that should have been given eight weeks ago the President spent more time covering his backside than showing that he is in command of the problem. Instead, taking the advice of Rahm Emanuel to never let a crisis go to waste, he decided to pimp his environmental legislation rather than show that he has his focus on the problem at hand.
The president flatly turned down assistance from the Dutch government that could remove up to 20 million tons of oil and sludge PER DAY. Eight weeks later the administration has finally capitulated and accepted the help. How many 100s of millions of gallons would have already been removed from the water had we accepted the help immediately?
Real leadership would have been going to Congress and having them temporarily suspend the Jones Act so that we could have accepted help from our friends around the world.
Governor Bobby Jindal asked to build berms off the coast of Louisiana to prevent or at least limit the damage to the fragile eco system. What was the answer? Silence from the administration. Governor Jindal finally issued the order himself to have the National Guard begin construction without authorization from the Feds.
Lets put aside the fact that more than 31,000 scientists dispute that global warming even exists. MIT Professor Richard Lindzen admitted that many scientists refuse to express their dissent to global warming simply to make their lives easier.

Can’t believe they actually used the word “pimp” in the headline. But when I moved my mouse pointer over your link, I see that this is indeed the word they used. Good job!
I guess he’s decided that the crisis has reached sufficient proportions that he can utilize it now. I’m so sick of the criminal behavior of this presidential regime.
Community organizer is just a fancy term for “pimp.” Its a shame it took the nation three years to figure that out.
This basically a blog and I see it’s yours. This is not “breaking news”.
How convenient.
Amazing how a lot of legislation is ready to be or “needs” to be pushed right after a crisis.
It’s like they have the script in a drawer just waiting for the right moment in time.
Charlie Rose put that directly to Rahm Emanuel in a satellite interview last night. Rahm admitted it, that they're going for a "package". Then they did a bunch of jokey-jokey about "gee, who said that?" as a way of "leave 'em laughing".
20,000,000 tons per day
X 80 Days
= 1,600,000,000 tons
X 31 Gallons / Ton (for gasoline which is probably lighter than oil)
= 49,600,000,000
That's 49.6 BILLION gallons of oil that could've been removed if 0bummer wasn't playing golf.
If the environmentalists would let the oil companies drill in sane locations instead of only 5,000 feet below the sea then this deepwater horizon would not have happened...
Anwar : hell no ! ! / 5,000 ft under the sea into muck, hell yeah ! ! , here's your environmental permit ! ......Now let us have MORE control so we can destroy the environment some more in the name of "environmentalism" (AKA socialism)
Lookie here, HG! A Blog Pimp, signed up just today, and Breaking News no less!

My records are quite complete on these things, you know.
Yes, I know. That's why I pinged you, old friend....

This particular pimp actually threatened to “expose” FR nationally. Seriously.

I can see why it might want to fire up a new identity.
How Alinski-like. They think they can come in here and ram our own “rules” down our throats, and in the process demonstrate their understanding of the rules is incomplete at best.
It was originally in “Breaking News”. Obviously the mods agree that it didn’t belong there.
