What BP and the Government Are Not Telling Us:
The Deepwater Horizon Well Is Going to Collapse Soon Resulting in an Uncontrollable Oilcano.
The recent failure of the Top Kill ("mud kill") attempt revealed that the well bore structure is compromised "Down hole", i.e., the well pipes below the sea floor are broken and leaking. That's why the Top Kill procedure did not work.
What does this mean?
It means they will never cap the gusher after the wellhead. They cannot. That sort of leak is one of the most dangerous and potentially damaging kinds of leak there could be. It is also inaccessible which compounds our problems. There is no way to stop that leak from above. All they can do is relieve the pressure on it by opening it up (like a opening up a garden hose nozzle to slow a leak in the line). This down hole leak will undermine the foundation of the seabed in and around the well area. It also weakens the only thing holding up the massive Blow Out Preventer's immense bulk of 450 ton.
What is likely to happen now?
Well...none of what is likely to happen is good. In fact, it's about as bad as it gets. I am convinced the erosion and compromising of the entire system is accelerating and attacking more key structural areas of the well, the blow out preventer and surrounding strata holding it all up and together. This is evidenced by the tilt of the blow out preventer and the erosion which has exposed the well head connection. What eventually will happen is that the blow out preventer will literally tip over if they do not run supports to it as the currents push on it. I suspect they will run those supports as cables tied to anchors very soon, if they don't, they are inviting disaster that much sooner.
Eventually, even that will be futile as the well casings cannot support the weight of the massive system above with out the cement bond to the earth and that bond is being eroded away. When enough is eroded away the casings will buckle and the blow out preventer will collapse the well. If and when you begin to see oil and gas coming up around the well area from under the blow out preventer, or the area around the well head connection and casing sinking more and more rapidly, it won't be too long after that the entire system fails. BP must be aware of this, they are mapping the sea floor sonically and that is not a mere exercise. Our Gov't must be well aware too, they just are not telling us.
All of these things lead to only one place, a fully wide open well bore directly to the oil deposit...after that, it goes into the realm of "the worst things you can think of" -- The well may come completely apart as the inner liners fail. The very least damaging outcome, as bad as it is, is that we are stuck with a wide open gusher blowing out a minimum of 150,000 barrels a day (about 6.75 million gallons) of raw oil or more.
All the collection efforts that have captured oil will be erased in short order. The magnitude of this disaster will increase exponentially by the time we can do anything to halt it and our odds of actually even being able to halt it will go down.
The magnitude and impact of this disaster will eclipse anything we have known in our life times if the worst or even near worst happens.
We are seeing the puny forces of man vs. the awesome forces of nature. We are going to need some luck and a lot of effort to win...and if nature decides we ought to lose, we will.
BP intends to drill two wells designed to intersect the original wellbore above the oil reservoir. This will allow heavy fluid to be pumped into the well which will stop the flow of oil from the reservoir. Cement will then be pumped down to permanently seal the well.
The purpose the BP relief wells for Deepwater Horizon is to shut it off forever not to relieve pressure and continue oil production.
Ixtoc coated South Padre Island and hit the So. Texas beaches mostly. It made it up farther north, they used booms to protect the estuaries - mouths of large rivers. Some got through, but not much.
The Mississippi is the biggest river we have, hence the biggest estuaries. A huge amount of fish and crustacean depend on it. It’s spawning season.
There’s talk of other pollutants being a bigger composition of this well - benzene being the worst I believe.
Hell, there’s all kind of talk. That’s why I’m so frustrated at what seems to be intentional misinformation or lack of real information.
I was born and raised on an island in the GOM. It’s personal.
:)
What do you make of the comment that the relief wells may not be able to handle the pressure when they hit the wellbore?
Sadly we have to get it to the pumps. There are many processes before then that obowelmovent can screw up. There never was peak oil. Just more and more Gaia world order BS. All modern famines are man made. We have Stalin in the White House. Buy food. Buy weapons. Buy gold. Buy band aids. Buy Bibles.
"On May 19, 2010 the Environmental Protection Agency gave BP 24 hours to choose less toxic alternatives to Corexit, selected from the list of EPA-approved dispersants on the National Contingency Plan Product Schedule, and begin applying them within 72 hours of EPA approval of their choices but BP refused to change from Corexit, citing safety and availability concerns with alternatives.
They refused because of concerns of safety and availability? Hmm...
The proprietary composition is not public, but the manufacturer's own safety data sheet on Corexit EC9527A says the main components are 2-butoxyethanol and a proprietary organic sulfonic acid salt with a small concentration of propylene glycol.
So god only knows what else Corexit contains! Also...
2-Butoxyethanol is more hazardous, and has previously been identified as a causal agent in the health problems experienced by cleanup workers after the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill.
History repeats.
According to the Alaska Community Action on Toxics, the use of Corexit during the Exxon Valdez oil spill caused "respiratory, nervous system, liver, kidney and blood disorders" in people.
According to the EPA, Corexit is more toxic than dispersants made by several competitors and less effective in handling southern Louisiana crude. The UK's Marine Management Organisation has banned its use in the North Sea.
And yet BP refused to use other options because they were worried about safety? Unbelievable!
Reportedly Corexit is toxic to marine life and helps keep spilled oil submerged. The quantities used in the Gulf will create 'unprecedented underwater damage to organisms.'
9527A is also hazardous for humans: 'May cause injury to red blood cells (hemolysis), kidney or the liver'.

(found on http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread583722/pg1) Industry people here on FR keep saying the stuff was the best choice and it is not dangerous to humans, but the quoted sources above can't be dismissed as lies I wouldn't think.
And up higher on the same page, here's an interesting comment I haven't seen elsewhere:
"However, there is an extremely disturbing rumour that suggests a rather different series of events!
The SLB Wireline personnel were called to the rig specifically to run the CBL test. However, they discovered that the well was still 'kicking; something that should definitely not be occurring at this stage of the proceedings and a pretty good indicator that there was a serious problem with the well-completion process. As a result of this, the SLB Wireline Engineer supposedly advised the Company Man that the well needed to be 'Shut in', either by pumping a heavier density mud (drilling fluid) or activating the BOP (Blow Out Preventer). The word on the vine is that the BP Company Man rejected this advice and the SLB Engineers immediately demanded to be evacuated from the rig. There being no scheduled helicopter, SLB management apparently responded to their Engineers request for immediate evacuation by flying out a charter 'copter. It is agreed by all parties that the SLB Engineers left the rig at 11.00am. The rig exploded six hours later. If there is any substance to these allegations, the BP Company Man has a lot to answer for ... including the lives of 11 oilfield hands. The truth is unlikely to be established outside a Court Room as the incestuous oil industry closes ranks.
The rumour part of this is provided by Ian R Crane (who some of you may have heard of); Prior to his retirement from the corporate arena, Ian enjoyed a career of 25 years in telecommunications and international oilfield services, a career that provided the opportunity to live & work in the U.K., Continental Europe, the Middle East & Houston, Texas.
So, Ian has vast knowledge of this particlar issue and one can only guess that he has many friends 'on the inside', as it were."
They will not tell us crap. Worse yet the chemicals that they are using to disperse the oil is just hiding it, forcing it deeper in the water. but it is pooling anyway.
Obama is CLUELESS and the only thing he wants is to push cap and trade from it. If he told the truth, he would be unable to pus that because people would throw him out saying he is not taking care of the leak itself.
He is going to use this to his advantage and will NEVER allow us to know the severity of it because we would be demanding his resignation.
Yep, drill an angling side-shaft a couple of miles down, lower a bomb into the bottom of the side shaft, and nuke it shut.
The Russians have already proved this method works, over and over.
I just thought that you might be interested in this...
Nice point. This isn't something oil companies want generally known, but now it's (literally) unstoppable.
>this has been debunked over on The Oil Drum. The situation is bad enough without getting our bebers stuned.<

They may have reconsidered their position
LOL, I was just thinking the same thing! His emotional reaction is so wildly out of place, it almost looks photoshopped.
“this has been debunked over on The Oil Drum. The situation is bad enough without getting our bebers stuned.”
Even so, you will have to admit it is Hugh!!!
>Bottom photo. Remember the recent article on Obummer by the shrink? Well this is an obvious case of inappropriate behavior. Barrys sitting there with a big ole sh!t eating grin on his face when he should have put on his serious and determined face. He forgot and showed his true feelings about the situation is the other interpretation. Cant help noticing the woman behind him in the shrimp-eating photos. I would say shes not a fan.<
The 25th Amendment was written for a reason ... this may be it
Hugh and Series!
So it sounds like you’re (not) saying, but might think that the 6 month ban on additional drilling - might be preventing the ultimate solution?
Which would be to drill the heck out of that deposit, and produce all the oil. Because the alternative, is to have it all flow out unchecked into the Gulf of Mexico?
This is the best link I’ve found on Corexit, in case you have not seen it (not familiar with the site, though):
http://beforeitsnews.com/news/77/214/Why_Is_BP_Using_Highly_Toxic_Corexit_Oil_Dispersant.html
If I lived where they are spraying that stuff, I’d be out hosing down every surface I could and wearing a mask. What’s with all these people here who keep saying what a great idea it was to use Corexit? If this article is true, I have to question their sanity, really.
Only problem is the person who would do the relieving - Biden. Then of course there’s the person who would have to relieve him for the same general reason (mental disability) and that is Pelosi. Now, let me think, who would relieve her...OH NO!
