I miss President Bush enormously. Every single day.
You cannot imagine what it's like to be sitting here in a combat zone and seeing pictures of Barack Obama at the top of my chain of command. On every wall in every building.
It comes down to a single word: leadership.
Setting aside all the tired old policy arguments I see recycled above, the reality is that Bush was a leader; Obama is not.
I didnt always agree with where Bush wanted to lead. But he led. Obama has never led anyone or anything to anywhere. I can forgive his misguided politics and policies; but I cannot forgive a leader who does not lead or even attempt to lead.
Even if I agree with every single thing Obama believes, he would be a failure of epic proportions because he fails to inspire. He fails to lead.
I miss George Bush so very much. I wish every day that I could see his picture up on that wall. For all his faults and mistakes, he never stopped trying to lead.
I love the guy.

Completely .. and still does, and
with class, humor and grace, something
old me-me-me hasn’t the first clue
about.
That's why I plead so earnestly that we pray mightily for our precious troops. Imagine how dispirited they feel, enduring the suffering and sacrifices they do, and being frustrated and pained to the core by what's leading them. They must feel so abandoned. Breaks my heart. This says it all.
With the other one
Lord, bless and protect our brave troops.
BUSH VERSUS OBAMA: WHO DO THE TROOPS LOVE AND RESPECT - AND WHAT IT MIGHT THAT LEAD TO . . .
###
* EVEN CNN SAID THE RESPONSE OF THE TROOPS TO OBAMA WAS “TEPID”.
* BUSH ROUTINELY GOT THUNDEROUS AND WARM RECEPTIONS FROM THE TROOPS.
* BUSH - WHO SENT THEM INTO HARM’S WAY - WAS A HERO FOR THE TROOPS,
* A COMMANDER IN CHIEF THEY KNEW WOULD STAND BY THEM AND DEFEND THE USA AND THE FREE WORLD - WHICH IS AFTER ALL THE MISSION THEY HAD ALL VOLUNTEERED TO BE A PART OF - REGARDLESS OF THE SACRIFICE.
* REPEAT: REGARDLESS OF THE SACRIFICE.
* THEY KNOW THAT OBAMA IS NO SUCH LEADER, AND NOT A BONAFIDE COMMANDER IN CHIEF.
* THIS IS IMPORTANT:
* WITHOUT THE RESPECT OF THE TROOPS EFFECTIVE COMMAND IS IMPOSSIBLE.
* I BELIEVE THAT THE TROOPS SENSE THAT OBAMA IS NOT ONE OF THEM, OR FOR THEM, OR FOR THEIR MISSION.
* FOR THIS REASON, I THINK WE WILL VERY SOON SEE A HUGE DROP OFF IN ENLISTMENTS - SOMETHING THAT NEVER HAPPENED DURING THE BUSH YEARS.
* THE TYPES OF MEN AND WOMEN WHO ARE WILLING TO SACRIFICE ALL FOR THEIR NATION AND THE FREE WORLD WILL NOT DO SO FOR A COMMANDER IN CHIEF WHO WOULD RATHER APPEASE OUR ENEMIES THAN OPPOSE THEM.
* THEY WON’T ENLIST TO SERVE A COMMANDER THEY CANNOT RESPECT.

OH, THAT’S A TERRIFIC VIDEO!

Picture are indeed worth a thousand words.
President Obama made his first trip as chief executive to Afghanistan over the weekend to, among other things, visit troops close to Kabul. He spoke to them at Bagram Airfield and we had the full text right here.
The White House released this picture by official White House photographer Pete Souza, showing the president shaking hands and grabbing a soldiers finger, and the troops reactions.
The picture below was taken by official White House photographer Eric Draper of another president, George W. Bush, visiting U.S. troops in South Korea and their reactions.
I think anyone serving in the military abroad would appreciate a visit from President Bush more than a visit from Barack Obama. The difference in the reactions is very telling. This is hardly the first time weve seen such a difference in reactions. Ive seen past video showing different troops reactions, and they tell the same story.
God help us all...

Excellent!
And you are correct. Fault George W. Bush all you want, but he was a leader. And he stuck to his convictions in the face of tremendous opposition and irrational hatred. He was the kind of leader you need in time of war. God bless him, and I thank God for him.
But...but..but
He is... BLACK!
And being such a novelty token actor such as this, well it went out as a fad in the 80’s like when the sequel of the Dirty Dozen had a black soldier preparing to blend in with Nazis.
Some things just, well some things no matter what will not work.
I always said about GW - right, wrong or indifferent, at least you knew where he was coming from. What you saw was what you got. There's a lot to be said for that.
The dearth of honesty in our current society is a harbinger of more bad things to come
Thanks for the link.
The word Love is so often used (by many people) with President Bush. I think the response of those Marines showed love and respect.
I never hear the most ardent supporters of the current White House occupant say they love him. He is a cold person.
Thanks for your visuals, links. BTTT!
Thank you so much for posting this. Our troops are need our prayers now more than ever. I miss President Bush!
Yes, PLEASE increase the prayers of
protection and safety of our incredible
military.
That first statement just choked me with
the heartbreak of the disrespect and lack
of pride and esprit de corps every soldier
should feel.
Yes, Maica ... GHB LOVES and honors our
troops and their families .. and it was
always evident how much that love and
respect was returned.
I would have much preferred Colin Powell as the first black CiC. He is a leader. Obama is nothing but a whiner and complainer.
THANK YOU for the post and the ping . . . Our troopers (including my nephew) know the difference between a LEADER and a PRETENDER. They know that President Bush was the former and Obama is the latter — and they’d like the former back . . . BIG TIME!
“heartbreak” describes these times perfectly...how I miss W!
