Hearst made the announcement of her "immediate" retirement today. Helen once said, "I think I'll work all my life. When you're having fun, why stop having fun?" Someone decided to end her fun." As a member of the White House Press Corps, Helen is officially a White House Press Corpse.
After the Christmas Day Underpants bombing attempt, Helen ask Janet Napolitano to explain the motivation for "them" [jihadists] to harm us. Her face doesn't lend itself to looking coy, but she tried her best.
So when Thomas told the Jews to "get the hell out," and soberly informed us that the land belongs to "Palestine," it was an opportunity to point out why she is oh, so wrong - and it's a legal point, so it matters.

We should start keeping a list of all the presstitutes who have disgraced themselves and debased & defiled the First Amendment to propagandize their ideologies.

For some reason I am feeling less than joyous about this. Helen Thomas, although the butt of many, many jokes for years here on FR, is an icon. I have a feeling this is a very significant event but I have no idea why.
I’m sure Helen thinks that the Jews are to blame for her getting sacked.

I am pretty sure your ability to reproduce will be negated, thus no grandchildren.
Would it be possible for Helen Thomas to save her position if she went to Oprah? Barney Frank?
Unfortunately, I expect she will be back as a reporter for Al Jazeera or a spokesman for CAIR or something.
Even MSNBC wouldn't offer her a job. No one will touch her with a 30 foot pole.
But let us thank her for making it politically incorrect to be so blatantly anti-semitic. Like it was when I was growing up.
