Republican gubernatorial front-runner Nikki Haley and FITS founding editor Will Folks texted each other nearly 200 times over the past ten months according to records provided by Verizon Wireless not a particularly high volume of communication when compared to the voluminous phone records that Folks released last week, but enough to raise some eyebrows.
One exchange initiated by Folks took place on January 3, 2010 while the blogger was in Birmingham, Alabama attending a college football bowl game. That particular 22-message thread began at 12:03 a.m. and ended at 1:05 a.m. Two nights earlier, Haley texted Folks at 12:22 a.m.
In June 2009, Folks wife Katrina (a.k.a. Mrs. Sic) responded to what she described as inappropriate emotional exchanges sent via text message late at night between Folks and Haley by sending her own message to the gubernatorial candidate from her husbands phone.
This is Katrina, Mrs. Sics message to Haley read. Keep it business only.
In addition to releasing records of recent texts and phone logs, Folks has also published a series of text messages outlining the days leading up to his May 24 admission of having an inappropriate physical relationship with Haley in the Spring of 2007.
Haley has denied Folks claim and said that her extensive night-time phone calls with the blogger who was her consultant at the time - were professional in nature.
Haley says she has been 100 percent faithful to her husband and that she would resign as governor if any evidence were presented to the contrary.
The volume of e-mails or texts is not suspicious, if, in fact, this man worked for her in a position in which they needed to be in fairly constant contact. Of course anything can LOOK suspicious, if the context is not known.
Wouldn’t authenticated content be helpful here?
He worked for Haley in 2007, not 2009 and 2010
She could release her text messages. That would either authenticate them or not, I suppose.
200 times in 10 months? Hell, I can do that with my kids in a few hours.
The times and lengths look suspicious.
Folks ain’t Haley’s kid.
Here Folks was only a part time consultant who was paid approximately $5,000 for his services. Based on these text messages and particularly the phone calls, their timing, their duration, that Haley was only a Representative in the South Carolina House, makes me highly suspicious.
This is a blog not a news source.
If they really had anything, it’d be out by now, now that the cat is out of the bag. If all we’re seeing is a string of text messages with no meat to them, then the buffet is closed.
“she would resign as governor if any evidence were presented to the contrary.”
Stupid thing to say.
Not really. It’s a news outlet.
Seriously, if she did cheat with him, why is it taking him so long to prove it?
Maybe he didn’t keep a blue dress
He was her employee/contractor at the time.
BS He does not cite one new source for his information. It’s a crappy blog.
Because Will Folks thought this would be his chance to hit the big time. By stringing the media along, he thought he could just dole out little tidbits of information - nothing definitive, just tantalising - until he was able to manufacture enough to "close the deal," so to speak, and could then purvey his role as "Not So Deep Throat" into a deal to make it big within traditional media. Problem is, some local media types in SC apparently decided to go around him, and now nobody really knows what story they want to run with. Folks' blew his chance to be the next Watergate.
I believe the reason they are after Nikki is to get Palin.
