President Obama said he would like to see the doubling of renewable power generation by the end of his first term, and you might think this was an easy ask, considering it is barely 3% of consumed power. However, this new legislation, The American Power Act makes provisions for renewable power that look great. However, the wrong assumptions mean that even by the hoped for date of 2030, that level of 'new' renewable power catered for in this Bill will still not have doubled that current total. There are also provisions for 'new' Nuclear power', and this post offers some pretty startling comparisons between that 'new' Nuclear power and the 'new' renewable power.
