To: Eric in the Ozarks
All the info you need is via the ‘net.

Although I no longer use it I still have my mom's "Maid of Honor" pressure caner, along with the book that came with it that is chock full of recipes. It's rather dated (circa 1949) and a lot of the recipes call for using lard, but I managed to work around that.....

Use the lard. Its way better for you than margarine or crisco

I noticed at our Wal Mart just about the only people who buy lard is the Mexican people. It is the Petit Jean brand in gallon buckets. I don’t know anyone who uses it.

We had one that my dad bought in ‘46 or ‘47. Wife and I moved it from Iowa to Missouri to Iowa, up to Minnesota and then to Missouri.
When I was young, we took it with us to Japan (Army brat days) and back.

I don’t think we ever actually used it. I was really big...
