DALLAS — Dramatic video of an 18-wheeler as it careened out of control on the Dallas North Tollway. The images, provided by a North Texas Tollway Authority traffic camera, show the Pepsi truck driving in the southbound lanes at Beltline Road Wednesday afternoon when a car apparently cut it off. The truck driver over-corrected and crossed the concrete median barrier, ending up on its side sliding in the northbound lanes. Before it was over, six other vehicles were involved in the wreck, but somehow there were no serious injuries....

A close one. At least it wasn’t a Dr.Pepper or Coke truck.

Good point. It was the silver car that overcorrected somehow as a result of what happened prior to video start, which we don’t see. Although the truck driver may have nudged the silver car beforehand, the truck driver did his best to minimize the carnage.

I agree. It was the silver car that slammed into the front wheels of the Pepsi truck causing it to slam into the center divider and go over into the on coming traffic.

That's NOT what happens on screen.

It is what happens on screen if you are a 22 y.o. journalism graduate that went to public schools and played video games for education.

The writer is not educated enough to do a strict analysis. So this is what you get. The mush-heads are taking over. My only consolation is that fire burns, water is wet, and the fools finger goes wabbling back to the flame.

.....friend of our family say’s you’d be amazed at how many drivers think a dump truck loaded with 20 ton of sand can stop quickly enough when they pull out in front of him....he has already taken his truck off road twice to avoid crushing people.

Sorry to beat a dead horse, but I’m going to speculate that the silver car failed to negotiate the curve in the freeway, causing a last minute correction into his/her lane, resulting in the overcorrection that slammed the truck. Okay, I’m done with this post. LOL

Apparently cut it off? Hells Bells, it ATTACKED the Pepsi truck from the right. Of coruse, we don’t know what went on just prior to the attack but I’d say from my casual observation of the video that there was a 90% chance the car’s driver was on the phone and masturbating to his girlfriend’s moans. Trust me, as a trucker, I have seen it all.

If you look at about 0.26 and onward, it surely looks like the car had a flat or broken T rod, , unless it was intentionally trying to hit the truck, as it was the 2nd and more forceful turn into the right front tire of the truck that sent it into the guard rail. Thank God is right that no serious injuries resulted.

when a car apparently cut it off

APPARENTLY?

There is no "apparent" about it

Moreover, the silver car did not only "cut off" the Semi, but actually ran into the front of the Rig, for whatever reason--probably a woman driver putting on her make up? lol

Back off ladies, I was only joshing!!!

“save everyone a trip to a blog”

Look Ma, I’m in a bloggers sub-forum:
http://www.freerepublic.com/tag/bloggers-forum/index

Yep son, you are!

So what exactly is this DETRACTOR’S (humblegunner) problem?

He is simply desperate to detract. Yet he remains a faithful visitor to the blogs he loves to hate!

If ever there was a place for links to blogs one would think it would be in the um.....bloggers forum!

Shazzam!

I actually got out of my truck once. A lady (using term loosely) cut me off, on wet pavement, and I had a full load- 80,000lbs. I stopped just barely and at the next light I jumped out and tapped on her window. Don't know what I was thinking but I was so scared by what had happened that I was shaking. She rolled down her window an inch and I explained to her, politely, about trucks and how heavy they are and how they can't stop as quick when they are loaded. Her response was that if I didn't stop and I hit her that it would be my fault. I guess she missed the part about her being dead if I couldn't stop. It was a little car. Would have just made a little “bump - bumpbump - - - bumpbump”.

So what exactly is this DETRACTOR’S (humblegunner) problem?

In what way have I detracted? I linked directly to the video. Is that a problem?

He is simply desperate to detract.

Actually, my goal was to short-circuit blog pimping. Obviously it bothers you.
We'll call that a "win" for me.

If ever there was a place for links to blogs one would think it would be in the um.....bloggers forum!

Link away all you wish. But why not post the full content?
Why cause folks to click on a blog to see a Youtube video which can be linked directly?

Answer: YOU WANT BLOG HITS.

You are a blog pimp using FR as a business platform.

Please deny it, back up the reason you cause folks to visit your blog to see a video.

Why is that, hmmmm?

Looking at the 16 sec point there is a little more leadup video. What’s notewothy is that the trailer seems to be exiting the far right lane in the first frame. I wish we had more of the before video but it looks like the truck’s lane change may have been part of what happened. Perhaps the truck lightly tagged the car’s rear bumper as the driver decides to whip around the car at close range.

I single stepped it...looks like the car over-corrected. was in the far right lane, drifted into the middle lane at the start of the curve, bounces back into the right lane, then cuts off the truck.

Been wanting to do that for 25 years but in some jurisdictions it could be considered an offense. I expect that my onboard recording will one day include video. It’ll actually be a blessing.
