.....friend of our family say’s you’d be amazed at how many drivers think a dump truck loaded with 20 ton of sand can stop quickly enough when they pull out in front of him....he has already taken his truck off road twice to avoid crushing people.

I actually got out of my truck once. A lady (using term loosely) cut me off, on wet pavement, and I had a full load- 80,000lbs. I stopped just barely and at the next light I jumped out and tapped on her window. Don't know what I was thinking but I was so scared by what had happened that I was shaking. She rolled down her window an inch and I explained to her, politely, about trucks and how heavy they are and how they can't stop as quick when they are loaded. Her response was that if I didn't stop and I hit her that it would be my fault. I guess she missed the part about her being dead if I couldn't stop. It was a little car. Would have just made a little “bump - bumpbump - - - bumpbump”.
