According to the U.S. Coast Guard, the top-kill was successful, and the oil leak in the Gulf is now contained. Now we'll get to see how the Obama administration mitigates the damage. So far their strategy has been to do nothing and blame George W. Bush, so I guess it's gymnastics time, as the Obamatons contort themselves and logic to figure out the next political angle on this disaster...

I think they should task Bush to handle the cleanup and impact to the coastal communities, etc. That way Obama can still go on vacation and when things collapse he can still blame Bush.
I’m an idea man!

If it is indeed stopped, this is a great thing.
I know politics will be the order of the day for the Obama administration, but I’m just glad to have this nightmare controlled.
The full extent of the damage is only beginning, there will be no “victory lap” if the Obama admin knows what’s good for them.

If Bush was responsible for the spill, then I would like to also congratulate George Bush for stopping it!

It’s a perfect crisis for 0bama.
Blame Bush and Big Oil for the incident, and shore up the tree hugger, enviro-nazi vote by banning all off shore and on shore drilling.
Then go on vacation, do some fundraising and play golf.

I saw something on Fox that the WH was downplaying the report.

FBN (Varney) just reported that the WH has backed off of the original statements. That is, the leak apparently is not yet plugged.
Gotta love the crisis management abilities of this WH.

Before this is over, O-hole and the media with take credit for inventing the concept of “Top-Kill” and “heavy mud”.

Sad part is, about half the voters in this country will believe that’s exactly what happened. The One needed only to give the command from on high, and IT SHALL BE DONE!

From the very little I know of this, (I’m no expert but that doesn’t stop me from forming an opinion), it appears that offshore drilling is reasonably safe if shortcuts aren’t taken. I don’t think BP can be trusted not to take dangerous shortcuts.

Looks like gin clear water down there now via the live feed.

FBN reported that the head of the MMS was fired because of the spill. That would be a typical Obama response -- publicly blame someone and make them pay.
People that screw up should be fired. Bush fired people, but he did it in such a way that they could keep their dignity.

All it takes is one little thing, and at a mile deep, things can go bad quickly.
I’d rather have BP working to solve the problem than the 0bama Regime.

Looks like gin clear water down there now via the live feed. That is great. Apparently though, the administration was ready to declare success, and then decided it was not ready to declare success.
