I’ve heard that West Point cadets do not normally applaud something that is political. So the weak applause could have just been the civilians nearby. I seem to remember how the press tried this ‘gotcha’ with GW several years ago.

I was there at the ceremonies. Obama got a tepid reception and polite applause, if any.

Um, ...and the point is? The editing out of applause is to save time. Rush used to edit out the applause to George W. Bush’s big speeches all the time. Big, f’n deal.

Watched it. Not much applause. Head scratching trying to figure out what O’s One World Order rhetoric had to do with their graduation.
Graduates are getting a little ticked this year at commencement speakers using their ceremonies for political agendas. It's supposed to be about the graduates.

I listened to the majority of the speech on YouTube, there was really not much applause.....even his jokes stunk! The applause was polite at best.
