Well it sounds like you missed a good series. Shame on you!
I watched some of the first season of “Lost”.
I thought Locke and the guy that had killed the fast-food stand guy
in Australia had compelling stories.
As well as the doctor that had busted his dad for practicing
medicine “under the influence”.
But I lost track due to work and a few years later, I’m hearing that
the show was basically also doing “time travel”. If that was true,
I’m glad I didn’t spend much time on the show.
It a nutshell: A plane crashed - people died.
Looks like a 10 year old Mexican kid I know.
The mother slept on her stomach while pregnant, so of course the kid is also somewhat retarded from his brain being oxygen starved.
This guy is about the kid’s size.
PS Series sucked outside of the pretty location.
Hmmmmmmm and did you follow the series? LOL
Yup, you didn’t notice the inside jokes? :-P
Man, I wish the trend of ‘bat brows’ would end.
I watched the first 2 years and sporadically after that. I did watch last night and my take was the same as yours-the island was purgatory.
It was good.
To me the church reunion scene seemed more like the actors saying goodbye to each other as they realized how they lucked into such a goldmine of a series. I didn’t see the characters at all, it was just like a good bye between actors after the final curtain call.....

Still disappointed.
Jack and Locke fight just outside of the source of light and when Locke bleeds the viewer realizes that Lock is now only human. After killing Jack in a “Borne Identity” style, horrifically violent, battle Locke, drenched in Jack’s blood, goes after the remaining candidates. Next is Sawyer, and the fight that ensues is incredibly sadistic ending ultimately with Sawyers disembowelment by Lockes serrated knife.
At that moment, Locke, now staggering, turns and looks at Kate and Hurly, and Kate, seeing Sawyer slain in such a brutal manner bolts, leaving Hurly standing there helpless. Locke turns and looks toward Hurly and smiles. Knowing full well he can catch up to Hurly later, Locke takes off after Kate into the jungle.
When Locke catches up with Kate it seems as though Kate has a chance as Locke, now exhausted and having already fought to life and death battles, is pretty worn out. The viewer at this point is left wondering, is Locke (MNB) so evil that he would kill a woman in such a fashion? However, the thought doesn’t linger long as Locke lunges after Kate and although Kate puts up a respectable struggle the scene of her death is reminiscent of the scene in “Saving Private Ryan” when the German soldier slowly thrusts the knife into the young American soldier. That is how Kate goes, by now the viewer is numbed by the onslaught of violence.
It begins to rain and the camera pans the jungle landscape finally landing on Hurly back at the light. Hurly is at the rope, hollering for Desmond but there is no answer, just then Locke arrives and pushes Hurly over the edge. Locke now looks confident as the camera cuts to the group feverishly trying to get the airplane started. Just as Lapidus hits the juice it explodes.
Lock slowly emerges from the cave to see Ben trapped beneath a tree. Locke puts one foot up on the log and leans over Ben resting himself on his knee. Ben looks up and says to Locke, “What now?” and Locke, with his blood dripping on Ben smiles in a that way only Locke can smile. The camera pulls back to an ariel view of the island as you hear the blunt force blow than ends Ben’s life.
Finally, the camera pans down to the shore where Locke is seen climbing into boat, raises it’s sails, and heads out to sea ...
Apparently children don't really matter in Lost. Sun and Jin not only die without showing any concern over the young daughter they left behind but the baby she was carrying at the end doesn't see mto matter, either. Jack's son is apparently not real. Aaron apparently gets to be a baby for all of eternity as an accessory for his mom. Alex isn't there, either. All of the children who were once shown wandering the island apparently vanished without a trace. Whatever. I was pretty disappointed with the ending.
I think Ben was purposely not in the church. The writers might be planning a spin off??
Thank God you were not one of the writers! :)
Yes, the new spinoff will be called “Waiting”. Don’t tell anyone.
Thought it was great, needed tissues.
I don’t think it was purgatory. I think they actually lived after the crash and went through trying to save themselves (and the island). I think they all died in the ways shown on the show, with others dying off screen (Lapidus’ plane crashed). That was what Jack’s dad said, “It was all real.”
Then they reunited in Heaven because they had such a strong connection while here on earth.
The only part that bothered me was the stained-glass church window with the image of the Muslim moon and star symbol.
