From the Atlantic,
I hadn't seen Sarah Palin speak in person since the 2008 elections. If one just watched or read mainstream media accounts of her paid speeches and appearances since then, including some accounts that have been featured on this site, one may have come to the conclusion that Palin was just a money-hungry ex-politician devoid of conviction, half-heartedly speaking to various interest groups and causes to line her pockets and/or raise her national profile to peddle books that she didn't even write herself.
Curious about how such memes can develop among supposedly intelligent commentators (most of whom are on the left, but the right has its fair share too), I went to Palin's speech in Washington, D.C. on Friday, where she spoke at a breakfast hosted by The Susan B. Anthony List, an extremely influential pro-life organization.
Nowhere did I see a caricature of a bumbling dolt just going through the motions. What I did hear was substance. Warmth. Humor. Unapologetic feistiness. And an optimistic belief in conservative values and principles. And what I saw was the makings of a potentially transcendent and transformational figure not only for the conservative movement but for American politics.

Her chief expression of genius is in her breathing. Never in history has anybody else been able to cause thousands of libtards to soil themselves in unison merely by her simple act of respiration.
They so wish she would stop doing that. They go, “OMG, she’s breathing again; when will this end? She is so stupid.”
It seems strange to me that people, who can so reflexively become deranged over a lovely, decent lady, think THEY are the good guys.
BUMP
YES! A frontier feminist. Totally different animal, not the “Ms.” generation AT ALL. THat’s what I’m talking about. And she is spot on about mothers worried about their children’s future and rising up. Count me among them. Go Sarah.
I’ve found my leader.
If she would just stop quitting the offices she gets elected to, she’d be electable for President.
It must be the WHY?.. that you don't git...
You can never have too many Saint Sarah threads on Free Republic.
According to the Bible all Christians are Saints! Saint Sarah Palin or the future "President Sarah Palin".
So, she should still be on the city council?
Oh I get it. She has an iron-clad case to justify quitting. Do I think she is a quitter? No. Am I afraid that when she is up against opposition as President that she will be tempted to quit? Yes. I like Sarah Palin. I will vote for her if she is the nominee. But I will vote to nominate someone else. I don't know who yet.
She should still be governor. She should have at least finished the term to which she was elected.
John McLaim has her totally out foxed.. befuddled.. eye rolling and drooling..
Meaning she is a bad judge of character..
i.e. Alice in a Wonderland.. PollyAnna in Utopia.. or Dorothy in Oz.. She would need to be the Queen of Hearts whacking off democrat and republican HEADS..
She may be a PollyAnna-ish when it comes to national politics..
The Harpy K.couric saw her comming and played with her..
as did several other malefactors.. shes just NOT MEAN ENOUGH..
She boasts of having mean potential(momma bear) but I don't see it..
She's just too "pardon the term".. NICE.... to be President..
The RNC or mcLaim campaign staff made her into a STEPFORD WIFE...
I know exactly why she quit. She quit because of all the frivolous "ethics" lawsuits. But do you think the lawsuits will stop if she becomes President? I don't. When they do continue, do you think she will continue to be President? Maybe, maybe not.
In quitting, she gave the leftists exactly what they wanted... her out of office. They succeeded in Alaska, like terrorists who were empowered when we pulled out of Lebanon after our troops were killed, the leftists are empowered when their tactics work.
She buckled to their strategy once. Will she do so again? I hope not. But I do not wish to take that chance. I'll vote for her if she is the nominee, but I will not vote to nominate her.
