thatstheguy07 May 17, 2010 Since this video has been getting so many views, and ppl have been asking the same questions, I figured Id explaion a ciuple things here. This video was sent to me by someone on facebook. I dont know who the guy is, what the aftermath was, or which crossing this was at.

And you have never had to work at the border.
Asking questions which may seem stupid to you are a way to find suspects and people with ominous plans and intentions. Asking them which store they are going to is not out of the ordinary - bad guys can give some pretty stupid and incriminating answers that convey their real identity and intent. It the guy answered “the Bay Company” or “Selfridges”, you might start suspecting something. Or if he’s “visiting his aunt on Chigago’s East side” you know he’s hiding something.
When this guy was asked what store, he could have just said he couldn’t remember. Instead he came out with an attitude. He got what he deserved.
You guys are clueless as to what comes across that border every single day. It is not bishops and rabbis and Mother Teresa.
Man oh man, I just read it. Excellent. Thanks for posting that. I’ll PM you in a bit.
Crap!
I grant you that the scum bag little Hitlers have the upper hand, but as a Canadian - that does NOT mean you kiss ass!
F’ing scumbag American border bureaucrats!
CanGyrene
Semper Fi!
Nothing corrupt here..you answer the questions and don’t talk back. They have been hard on the border for years and it doesn’t need changed IMO.
Crap, buddy, absolute crap!
>> Sorry, but the BCE folks are in the right here... If you think their job is to be a Welcome Wagon for Canadian a$$holes
+1.
The folks that have their knickers in a bunch on this thread are confusing the SUBSTANTIAL rights of a US citizen already in this country with the rights of a FOREIGNER desiring to ENTER this country. THEIR rights are essentially ZERO, until they’re admitted.
If you’re a smartass Canadian and his wife, you do NOT have any God-given (or constitutionally guaranteed) right to go down to Niagra and shop! Get over it, Loonie.
Of course you’re a wetback sneaking into the country, your rights are over and above the rights of a US citizen these days, but that sorry state of affairs is adequately covered in other threads. :-)
You certainly didn’t spend 9 years in the Army studying immigration law.
A non-US citizen has no right to enter the United States. It is a privilege which can be granted and revoked at any time. Three of the four Beatles were retricted entry into the United States because of their personal histories (drug convictions, other stuff).
Even when in the United States, foreigners are here as guests, which privilege can be revoked at any time for any cause (unless you are Obama’s aunt).
You guys probably think that Immigration was too rough on the Millenium Bomber who was caught at Port Angeles, WA, because of his behavior.
Ride these border agents enough and you just may be the guy that gets nuked by the one they let through because they didn’t want to hear any more whining from people like on this thread.
And if we just used sensible racial profiling we could save BILLIONS because the TSA thing when combined with the Customs thing is a massive expenditure to no purpose because the terrorists are the protected class at the ports of entry. It’s only white people who are being harassed. Which is to say, the racial profiling is intensely focused on the wrong race.
Thank you.
A voice of reason.
They were under the impression that “this is America”. No, that WAS America. Now the guy at the top is a thug and he sets the tone so every little bureaucrat in a uniform thinks he can be one. Granted, the Canadian man was a bit flip but his behavior in no way warranted the little Hitler routine he got from all 3 border agents.
By the way, a friend and I got even worse treatment from Canadian border agents when we flew into a western province. Very similar bureaucrat-out-of-control stuff with absolutely no foundation. Being polite and answering questions did not help. I thought at the time, man I’m glad I’m American. Ironic, isn’t it?
These people are Canadians. They don't have a right to come to the United States. It is a privilege, just like it is a privilege for us to visit Canada.
Got a funny story for you though. There is an fired RCMP officer that keeps threatening people and law enforcement in my local area. He was allowed to cross for a hearing regarding a no contact order being requested against him. When the hearing was over the judge granted the no contact order. The Canadian threatened the requester and was arrested on the spot.
I agree completely. I’ve concluded that the reason that whites are profiled is for two reasons. First and foremost, they don’t fight back. If blacks were profiled, the LSM would be all over it. Second, the political class hates whites, and is espousing racial conflict.
I agree that the Canadian has no civilian rights in our country, but I really do hope and pray that you realize, that this is a bigger issue.
The second agent just wanted to let the guy go. Sure, the Canadian should have shut his mouth, but the first agent should have never tried to make the Canadian’s life worse just to exercise his power, which is exactly what the man did.
This problem is systemic, if you don’t know that, I pray you wake up before it further reaches you or someone you love. Tyranny is rampant, don’t think Border Patrol is somehow off the hook. I assure you, they are a part. Most patriots would be frustrated instantly, these people aren;t their for the good of the country, they’re there for the paychecks. That’s the problem.
>You certainly didnt spend 9 years in the Army studying immigration law.
There was no reason for them to suspect the man... I direct your attention to the fourth amendment:
The right of the people to be *secure in their persons*, houses, papers, and effects, *against unreasonable searches* and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, *but upon probable cause*, *supported by Oath or affirmation*, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
Take a look at the portions between the astricies. Note that the people are supposed to be secure from unreasonable searches; what is reasonable about being told “we don’t need a reason”? Furthermore, there is a probable cause clause for the issuance of warrants... WHICH MUST BE SUPPORTED BY OATH/AFFIRMATION. (In other words, a lie on the part of the officer there IS perjury.)
As for your assertion that it is a privilege for foreigners to enter the US, I agree. But let me ask this:
Why should we let some bureaucratic schmuck revoke that privlige?
Driving is also a privilege; would you like it if some police officer were to take a disliking to you and be able to, then and there, revoke your license? No reason given.
>If youre a smartass Canadian and his wife, you do NOT have any God-given (or constitutionally guaranteed) right to go down to Niagra and shop! Get over it, Loonie.
Oh, does this mean that smart-ass Americans can’t write political pieces?
Guess I’d best find out how to un-post this:

Ive been through Customs in a lot of countries throughout Europe and back to the US. The US and UK customs people were by far the worst.
i had been to the uk many times . the customs people there were not as bad as some of our people that i observed on the return but i was never mistreated. but that was a long time ago.
I just read the Youtube Description, and it is correct. These agents WANTED to arrest them. They could have just turned them back to Canada.
When you present yourself at a border there is no 4th amendment protection. Customs officers are allowed to go through all of you belongings with no level of suspicion.
I know you will flame me for bringing this up, but I am trying to protect you. You need to know this in case you ever try to cross a border. Everything on your person, in your car, on your phone, computer, iPod....everything is subject to search. When they take a cursory look at your passport and wave you through they are choosing not to exercise that authority.
When the secondary interview took place, his attitude got worse. I blame the traveller not the officers. If you want to travel into the US, answer the questions. I call it the "yes sir, no sir, three bags fulls sir" routine. Real easy.
Serious question here. Is there a large sign at the border that informs people that once they are on the premises of the inspection station, they have no rights and must do everything the border agent tells them to do and answer every question whether they know the answer or not?
That Canadian man obviously did not know any of that. Had he been informed of the true circumstances, he probably would have been yes sir’ing at every opportunity or maybe he just would have stayed in Canada. People need to know that they have no rights in that place and they are at the total mercy of another human being - who may be on a power trip - before they enter the area.
I’ll bet every terrorist would know that in advance and never act like this Canadian man did. So do you think they suspected the man was a terrorist or drug runner? No way. So why did they treat him like that and arrest him? I think they enjoyed making him squirm and making his wife cry even though they knew they were innocent and that is not their job. I hope. They acted more like terrorists than the Canadian man did.
