Sarah Palin Will Announce Her Candidacy On Feb 6th 2011 In Tampico, Illinois
Citizen Palin 4 President ^ | Michael J. Fahy

Sarah Palin will announce her candidacy for President in Tampico, Illinois (or maybe Dixon or Eureka) on February 6, 2011, Dutch Reagan's 100th birthday. That is not just my prediction/fantasy; others thought the same after her Wednesday address in Chicagoland's suburban Rosemont, where she unabashedly took charge of the then erupting Highland Park school debacle. Palin fired up the Chicago crowd, citing Ronald Reagan as a driving influence in her life and political career.

I don’t think he is popular. Look at what happen in NJ, VA and MA.

He is below 50 in many polls. the economy is poor.

Palin’s favoribles are not much lower than his. within several % points.

-—”We ain’t playing poker here, so you can cut the poker face.”-—

I don't need a poker face. He's going to endorse Mitch Daniels or Mitt Romney.

-—”How about something reasonable say, $250. Or we could make it as a donation to the other guy’s candidate on behalf of the winner.”-—

If we're going to do money, I'm going to stick to my long-standing rule that a cash bet needs to be a serious cash bet. As I've said many times before on FR, I don't bet often, and when I do I like to remind myself what it's like to sweat so I continue to not do it often. I'd prefer a bet that can be verified on FR:

The loser must promote the other Freeper’s candidate on their tag line - unsarcastically - unless said candidate drops out. Also, the loser of the bet cannot speak ill of the other’s candidate in any way:

not directly,
not indirectly,
not in Freepmail,
not in posts,
not first-hand, second-hand, or third-hand,
not passive/aggressively,
not “read between the lines” insults,
not with hints or complaints,
not in any way WHATSOEVER.

In other words, once we form the terms of “running,” if DeMint does not run, you cannot speak ill of, or even hint ill of, Sarah Palin unless/until she drops out. In your tagline, you will promote Palin for President unsarcastically. Not even hints of angst allowed. Not even with another screen name.

If you win, and DeMint does run, I will promote DeMint on my tagline unless/until he drops out, and I will be forbidden from speaking ill of him in any way, directly or indirectly, unless/until he drops out. Not even hints of angst allowed. Not even with another screen name.

Think it over. If you agree, then we'll just need to settle the terms of “running.”

Can’t do that. Because if DeMint drops out, or chooses not to run, I’ll only support Palin if she is the best conservative still standing (IMO, of course). Even if I win the bet, I have no desire to curtail your free speech and would have no desire to police it much less enforce it.

But my $250 offer stands.

“Who do the DeMint folks jump to when he doesn’t run”

They’ll be in too much shock when they see him endorse Romney again lol.

Actually, he is going to sit back and let the winner emerge and then jump on board with VP hopes.

It is far too early to tell as we do not know who is even running. Things will be a little more clear after the 2010 elections are done. Personally, I like Mike Pence and was hoping he would run in 2008. I am undecided as to whether he would be of more use as Speaker of the House though.

Sarah is a great communicator

Yeah, five years of public "education" and four colleges couldn't produce a beauty queen who never finishes anything. She is a wonderful spokesperson, but I wouldn't want her to try and balance my checkbook.

Well, with five kids and having run a business I’d be happy to put Sarah in charge of my check book. With the money deals she’s made since the VP bid, I’ll let her handle my check book. When she’s president she won’t want to know what’s in my check book or have her hand out for it, and I like that just fine.

I don't usually jump into arguments about Sarah Palin (I think she is great), but your comment was on the opening FR page. So, how do you know she couldn't balance your checkbook? Are you one of those self-proclaimed "superior intellects?"

Step away from network news, please. You are mirroring what they want you to mirror. Facts are, the only thing she quit was the governorship when it was clear that frivolous lawsuits were going to destroy any effectiveness she could have in that role. She’s more effective today than she was then. And, I think she knew she would be.

I’ve never understood the hostility toward Palin concerning her attending 4 different colleges (it was not 5). To me, that demonstrates someone very determined to earn a degree. Most people would’ve just thrown in the towel after their 2nd or 3rd choice didn’t work out for them or they ran out of tuition money and had to take breaks in their schooling(which is what Palin has said—she’d go home and work a semester or quarter and then head back to school).

No, they do it because it is a target rich environment.

I attended 3 before I got my first degree. Then I went to two others for 2 additional Masters degrees. Had something to do with finding a school that actually provided the education I was after.

Unfortunately, as we have learned 1,000,000,000 times over the years, Congressmen just don't do well in national primary races. Heck, I can't think of a single time anyone scored more than 5% except for Ron Paul, and we've had some very good Congressmen run. Duncan Hunter had overwhelming support at FR, and he didn't even register in the polls. It's too bad, really, because there are a lot more true Conservatives in the House than in the Senate. But that's the reality.

Pence is at the top of my future list, too. I really hope he finds it in himself to run for a statewide office and become an instant contender from that point on. He is the future, if he's ready to take the necessary steps-up to get there!

Sad truth is, though, no matter how much we like Duncan Hunter, Mike Pence, Michele Bachmann, or any other Congressperson, it's over before it begins until they win statewide.

That's why my list always contains Governors/Senators with very few excpetions. It's just the way it is, really.
