The index we’re dealing with is a “vital event” index.

An index of serial numbers?

An index of names (child and parents) and serial numbers.

Buckeye Texan was saying that there would be multiple entries for Obama in the birth index if Obama’s BC was amended because that’s who databases work.

I explained that the index data they give out now (which Donofrio and others have received) is the index data for the event, not for all the times the record was changed. They have one index for Obama’s birth because that was a single event.

His certificate could have gone through multiple changes without changing the fact that Obama’s birth is one event, with one birth index entry for that event.

I’ve asked to see the database’s transaction record for Obama’s BC, and the HDOH says it would frustrate a legitimate government function if that record is public. They won’t tell me exactly what legitimate government function.
