The recent scandals surrounding the climate change debate and the science behind climate change have prompted politicians and law makers across the country to order climate scientists to hand over the data that represents their findings. In some cases, climate scientists have even been threatened with criminal charges if it is found that data was intentionally altered for the purposes of furthering a pro-climate change agenda.
255 members of the National Academy of Sciences have responded to these charges in an open letter entitled Climate Change and The Integrity of Science. The letter denounces the charges made against them by climate change "deniers," and likens the threats of criminal prosectuion to McCarthyism:
We are deeply disturbed by the recent escalation of political assaults on scientists in general and on climate scientists in particular. All citizens should understand some basic scientific facts. There is always some uncertainty associated with scientific conclusions; science never absolutely proves anything. When someone says that society should wait until scientists are absolutely certain before taking any action, it is the same as saying society should never take action. For a problem as potentially catastrophic as climate change, taking no action poses a dangerous risk for our planet.

Well, since McCarthy was essentially correct, this must be a good thing!
So in order to spur people to action, we had to lie, or by the time we are certain whether or not action needs to be taken, it will be too late to take the actions we want taken, while if we get everyone to take the action we want taken now, by the time we know whether or not those actions are necessary, it will only be too late to take the actions we don’t want them to take. Therefore, it is absolutely necessary for scientists to lie, in order to get people to do what we want, instead of something else (stop to inhale deeply).

But now a solemn message:
You know, you little people should be glad to walk to work in the freezing cold and blistering heat and enjoy hypothermia and heat stroke in your home to support our glorious cause of SAVING THE PLANET (applause sign pops up).
Now just because you are out of a job because of our economy-inconvenient green policies you must think about the tremendous work that we, your betters, go through to fabricate a believable psuedo-science so that you can tell your friends (and vile denier *spits* enemies of the Earth) that you are morally righteous in destroying civilization to rescue the Earth for those few of us that remain to enjoy it. Your sacrifices will not go unnoticed.
We will probably make a plaque in your honor or name a baseball field after you all have passed away from following our strict, but fair guidelines*

These frauds need to be brought up on charges
They need only look to their own example of Heidi Cullen when she was trying to get Meteorologists stripped of their credentials if they would't sign on to the fraud.
