Dr. Dan Benishek, general surgeon from Crystal Falls, Michigan, embarked on a tour of much of the first district of Michigan, in his run for Congress.
Beginning in Iron Mountain, he had stops in Marquette, Escanaba, Munising, Newberry, and Sault Ste. Marie. His first stop of the day was at Great Lakes Radio WKQS 101.9 Marquette with host,Walt Lindala at 7 AM EST. After a breakfast with local contacts, the team made its way to Munising to interview with The Munising News. Continuing along Highway 28, they stopped in Newberry to visit a number of municipal buildings there and around 3:30 PM, they arrived in Sault Sainte Marie where they later attend a Republican meet and greet at Cup of the Day, on Ashmun street.
On the third day of Dan Benisheks (R Crystal Falls) Enough is Enough tour, the doctor began his trek south to the lower peninsula. Starting their day in a cold Sault Sainte Marie, they headed south to St. Ignace, meeting with the local newspaper before crossing the Mackinac Bridge. Team Benishek moved across northeast Michigan to Rogers City where they joined in a prayer service in front of the Presque Isle County Courthouse for the National Day of Prayer.

When I was on Mi-28 on may 5, 2010 filling up for gas at Pickelmans Zephyr Gas Station for 299.9 the Benishek RV with a GM in tow turned toward Newberry.
It is nice to see someone in the UP of Michigan running for office in DC. Hope Benishek goes for making a difference in the US and MI. I am tired of losing more and more people to no jobs and a poor economic times in MI.
I perfect name for a tour. It exactly encapsulated what I feel.
Isn’t there another guy running for the nomination? I don’t know his name but I understand he’s a logger up there.
Obviously, he doesn’t have much traction.
Excellent!
P.S. I am proud to have looked up the then completely unknown Benishek and of having then contributed to his campaign within MINUTES of Stupid Stupak caving on Obamacare.
That would have been Tommy Casperson. Tommy is now running for the state senate instead.
Tommy ran against Bart the Fart the last time and lost big time. If I could have talked to him I would have told him to NOT run two years ago and run this time instead.
