TOP 5 REASONS WHY PALIN ENDORSED CARLY FIORINA

Some conservatives are angry at Governor Palin's endorsement of former Hewlett-Packard Executive Carly Fiorina. In a way, this anger is understandable, given that Chuck DeVore is the Tea Party favorite and the true conservative in the race, and Palin stated that she would support conservatives regardless of party.

Principles are important, but in certain circumstances they take a back seat to pragmatism. You can't implement your principles if you don't win first, so here is why Palin endorsed Carly:

Money. Chuck DeVore is a fine conservative, but he doesn't have the money to compete with Boxer. California is an expensive media market and a huge state requiring lots of travel and lodging. DeVore would need a minimum of $20 million just to keep his head above water, and God Bless the Tea Parties, but they'd have to hold a thousand money-bombs for DeVore, and in this economy it simply ain't happening.

History. Boxer is a POS Senator with an IQ of a bathtub ring, but she's a ruthless campaigner. Those of you screaming we need a true conservative to face Boxer - I humbly offer you the remains of Matt Fong and Bruce Herschensohn, both staunch conservatives who got shredded by Boxer. Boxer either used their conservatism against them and they apologized like dummies, or she made up some crap at the last minute which got her votes, as in the case of the strip club allegation against Herschensohn. She can't do the same to Carly.

Polls. DeVore has been running for almost a year now and yet he still can't break 20% in the polls. This with the Tea Party movement and voter discontent at Washington. He should be leading, yet he's not. That falls more on the candidate and the campaign he's running than on the political environment.

3-person race. Governor Palin was faced with what is known as a Buridan's ass choice. She can't support Campbell because he's too liberal; yet if she support the conservative, DeVore, he would lose. So she had to choose someone who represented the greater good, and that choice is Carly.

Mitt Romney. Carly has a much better chance of becoming Senator than Meg Whitman has at being Governor. Endorsing Carly neutralizes CA support of Romney in the event the two of them face off in the state. Also, it kills the canard that Palin can't attract independents and moderates (never mind that she worked with Dems in Alaska and was pretty much a pariah in the state GOP). Palin can't be stereotyped as a right-wing religious kook by endorsing Carly.

Nobody's saying Carly is the 2nd coming of Thatcher. She might become the West Coast version of Olympia Snowe, who knows. But what Carly represents is a new type of blue-state Republican in the mold of Scott Brown and Chris Christie: Someone who meets the minimum conservative threshold and will focus on taxes, spending, health-care and other big-ticket issues, and not get into pissing matches about social or other issues that the majority doesn't care about right now. Sarah's endorsement is strategic and makes perfect sense.

I’m surprised there still is a free trade crowd. The economy is so trashed, the taxpayer so trounced, by what they’ve done, they should hang their heads in shame.

That was their goal all along .... everyone should have to grow up eating corn bread with soup beans 3x - everyday of the week, during their childhood.

They have a hostility towards anyone who has anything better than them.

How so? Carly has millions of dollars to compete with Boxer and her stint at HP will get the Silicon Valley vote and other support from CA businesses. Boxer will say that she ran HP in the ground but Boxer is running Washington into the ground, and voters care more about the country as a whole than about one company.

HP endorsed Boxer.

Ok, Purist...go ahead vote for the person who has NO CHANCE of beating that B*tch Boxer!!

I used to vote the lesser of two evils to the best of my ability... it was a grey area for me on how to vote. Then I stumbled on this passage...

Romans 3:8 (King James Version) "And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just."

I no longer have the problem you have.

And I really don’t think the people of HP need to be told Fiorina ran them into the ground. It was big news all over Silicon Valley. If she papers over her stint at HP by saying she knows how to run a business, then she’s lying to you and to the voters of California.

Tariffs are different from telling two people that they may not contract for employment, favoring one group over another — and adding mandated salary and benefits. The founding fathers and the Constitution have encouraged the land of opportunity, not the land of guaranteed “living” wages, health care, or even food, housing, and clothing.

In addition: Tariffs do not include the power to force companies to hire certain people, forbidding them to hire others. Tariffs most certainly are not defined by Federal Corporate taxes among the highest in the world. http://www.taxfoundation.org/publications/show/22917.html

You’re all over the map - we were discussing Fiorina, remember?

The rules and regs are not compatible with business life. Free markets have only been more successful than communism and socialism because so many people are working at it and trying to find new loop holes in the rules and regs.

Another 2 years of ObamaGov because the Dems win 6 more years of Boxer might be enough to choke business in California to death.

First if all, I never said we didn’t need professional politicians. But I do think that we need someone with at least a track record of positive business experience vs. two failed corporate leadership roles. And if someone can’t even find the time or be bothered to vote in elections, they might just be too unconcerned to represent an entire state. But that’s my logic for ya.

As for beating Boxer, with enough fed-up Californians that have had it with the current crop of lefties mucking everything up with their tax & spend liberalism and soft-on crime and illegal immigration, I would think that DeVore could have won IF Sarah had thrown her support behind him.

I don’t know. I’m guessing that California is pretty much a lost cause anyway since the grip of socialism has all but smothered it to death. One thing’s for sure. With the current Marxist in DC, we will ALL be paying for the failures of the so-called liberal utopias.

We’ll see (and pardon the all caps).

“...and Palin supports McCain. Go f yourself.”

Yep, people with brains and political awareness see why she supports McCain. But DeMint has nothing but cold callous political opportunism as reasoning to support Myth Romney.

Yet, hypocrites like you ignore that for yer boy lol.

Your school yard rants equal your school yard intellect.

Did you eat your peas today? They fo well with catfish and crow.

If you ever read your British history you’d know that ‘free’ trade destroys sovereignty and ushers in socialism.

It’s been written widely and we have as a perfect example modern britain, one of the most totalitarian and surveilled society in the world, whose citizens( not corporations) pay the highest taxes in the world.

Fiorina is despised, she’s worked for global socialism and the republican party is endorsing her. Talk all you want but by the actions of the republican party, the end game is clear.

You know, I’ve seen Sarah’s list of why she’s supporting Carly. But I’ve yet to see any list of positions by DeVore or his supporters, only the assertion that he’s the better conservative.

Good enough for me. I don’t like it, I don’t like Fiorina....but I understand the endorsment better now.

Free trade is risky. The British have also resisted the republican representative form of government, which is also risky for sovereignty. Although we stand on the shoulders of giants who argued against her and have fought side by side with her soldiers and sailors, we the people of the United States of America are not Great Britain.

So you’re a free trader, or more aptly free traitor. That’s why you endorse socialist Fiorina.
