Palin Endorses Pro Life, Traditional Marriage, Military, Anti-Amnesty & 100% NRA Rated Carly Fiorina
Citizen Palin 4 President ^

Posted on 05/06/2010 2:57:45 PM PDT by MaxCUA

Jan Evans: Carly Fiorina has been endorsed by the National Right to Life, the California Pro-Life Council, and the Susan B. Anthony List. She is pro-life, pro-traditional marriage, pro-military, and pro-strict border security and against amnesty. She is against Obamacare and will vote to repeal it and prevent the government takeover of private companies and industries. Carly is also a strong supporter of the Second Amendment. Like me, she is a member of the NRA, has a 100% NRA rating, and she and her husband are gun owners. She is pro-energy development and believes as I do in an all-of-the-above approach to energy independence. She is against cap and tax. And most importantly, Carly is the only conservative in the race who can beat Barbara Boxer. That’s no RINO. That’s a winner.

"I think DeVore is the only real conservative in that race, but his candidacy would guarantee Boxer's reelection."

Uh, polls tell a different story:

Rasmussen (April 12)

Carly Fiorina (R) 38%

Barbara Boxer (D) 42%

***

Chuck DeVore (R) 39%

Barbara Boxer (D) 42%

"Big-name conservatives organizations, like the California Pro Life Council and National Right to Life, have endorsed Carley Fiorina."

That does not make her the right choice. Chuck DeVore is the real conservative in the race and Rasmussen has him closer to beating Boxer that Fiorina. I see no justification for conservatives not to back DeVore 100%.

Over 3,000 miles away, you don’t understand California politics.

You are in a small homogenous setting with around 620,000
state population.

San Diego County is over 3.4 million population

Reagan couldn’t win in CA today.

"Uh, polls tell a different story: "

I think you mean A poll. And, while Rasmussen enjoys excellent national bona fides, I'm not sure if he's the go-to guy for intrastate polling, especially in California. Plus, even this poll is WELL within the margin of error.

I'll stand by my statement - DeVore is the best conservative, but of the two major GOP contenders, he's the least likely to unseat Boxer.

Perhaps not, but I do understand a rationalization of ignoring a more conservative candidate in favor of one who is more acceptable to the GOP establishment. Rasmussen polls are generally accurate and they show that the conservative in the race has a better shot at beating Boxer. That is not my assessment, but the result of Rasmussen's poll. I could understand going with the more "electable" candidate if the actual polls showed that she really was more electable. The problem is that the polls show no such thing.

If I lived in CA, I would vote for DeVore. I do not believe that Fiorina is pro-life, or that if she kinda it , is personal only.

That said, if Palin can use her influence to state Fiorina’s position clearly as pro-life, and Fiorina betrays that in any substantial way, Fiorina can be held accountable. Palin gets her on the record.

Ideally, I’d like someone who really believed, not someone who might stake out a position for political expediency.

But,if you have a viable candidate who doesn’t have much in the way of real depth, you are better off having him on your side than on your opponents’.

Just so long as it isn’t that Islamist snake Tom Campbell, I’d hate to have to vote for Boxer to defeat him, and I would and so would anyone who knew the truth about Campbell.

There’s hardly any difference in how the candidates would do against Boxer. The reason is that whoever runs against Boxer is really running against the Obama agenda. You’re either for it or against it. We have a good opportunity to win Boxer’s seat regardless of who wins the primary. I just don’t want the winner to be seated in the McCain/Gramnesty/Crist/Snowe/Brown caucus.

DeVore has gone into attack Palin mode and again actinng like a 4 year old.
People who live in the world of reality here, don’t want
a person who more than once goes off on a child like snit.
Not Senator material

You seem to have overlooked that this is a Republican primary, not the general election.

Palin and the rest of the California right is desperate to stop Tom Campbell first, with weeks to go, Carly has the money and the numbers to stand a good chance of doing that.

Palin can actually help some in the Carly vs Campbell battle, nothing could be done to make Devore suddenly make up a consistent 20 point deficit to knock out Campbell, but Carly has the money and position to close a 4 to 7 point gap with Palin's help, especially if Devore drops out in a week or two.

I was at HP before, during and after Carly. She was not perfect, but she did not almost sink HP. the board members who tried to sabatoge her did.

Funny thing is, the things they fought her on Mark Hurd does all the time (buying into industries). And gets no visible resistance from the board.
