Tea Party Candidate Jason Sager Needs Our Help!
Wake Up 1776 ^ | 5 May 2010 | John Smithers

Posted on 05/04/2010 9:41:58 PM PDT by FloridaBattleGround

Friends,

Jason Sager started up the 9-12 group in our county and has been extremely active in all of the Tea Parties of the area. Jason decided to run for Congress because he is tired of the establishment deals and because he loves the Constitution. Jason is a Navy veteran. He also has signed the 10th Amendment Center Pledge and joined the Freshmen 50. Jason qualified for the ballot back on March 23rd, yet Ginny still refused to endorse Jason when she recently stepped down.

Only about 2 months ago did Ginny Brown-Waite, the liberal Republican from Brooksville, say that she was going to run for reelection. She had the nerve to say she prayed about it hard and God is telling her to run again. Yet on the last day one can file to be on the ballot, Ginny announces that she is going to retire and then selects a successor – Richard Nugent. I don't even know who Richard Nugent is. He doesn't attend any Tea Parties. I have heard that he likes to grow government. But what is really rotten is that Richard played down his campaign only to fly to Washington DC the next day to meet with GOP bigwigs. Doesn't that say a lot about a candidate? The very first chance he gets he goes out of the district for support? That should tell us something about his mentality – DC first, his potential constituents second.

GIANT PING TO FLORIDA FREEPERS!

Hi Friends! We Floridians need to be aware that we have POSERS coming into our Primary elections! What are POSERS? They are Political Operatives Stealing Elections (from) Real Statesmen!

PLEASE NOTE:
We have former State Senator, Dan Webster, who just recently entered the FL District 8 Primary. Webster had stated that he was NOT going to run, but entered the race with IMMEDIATE endorsements from Mike Huckabee and Jeb Bush.
And although Dan Webster did not show at the last District 8 candidate forum, it was mentioned on FOX 35 in Orlando that Webster is considered the “favorite”. Favorite of whom?? The RNC elite, of course! Well, lets show our support for a REAL STATESMAN, Dan Fanelli!http://electdan2010.com/
See here:

********************
PLEASE NOTE:
We now have Republican incumbent, Ginny Brown-Waite, from FL District-5 dropping out last minute and wanting to “hand pick” her replacement in Sheriff Richard Nugent.
We have a great Conservative candidate, Jason Sager, who has been in the FL District 5 race from the beginning. Why didn't Brown-Waite endorse him?? Most likely because the RNC wants Mr. Nugent to be one of their POSERS!

*********************
Florida is certainly NOT the only state where POSERS will be running and pushed by the RNC elite. We have the RNC elite pick, Tim Burns, running against the REAL STATESMAN, Lt.Col.Bill Russell, in PA District 12. That Special Election is coming up on May 18th! Please spread the word about Bill Russell! http://russellbrigade.com/

PLEASE take note of what is happening in your Congressional district! Seek out the Real Conservative in your Republican Primary race and work to help support the best candidate!

Ping to Sager4Congress,

FloridaBattleGround,

This is actually worse than NY23. This is the Washington establishment and Ginny trying to "hand pick" her replacement.

In this race, the local Republican Party committees and chairmen were not consulted and did not choose Nugent. Nugent was forced on them by Ginny, possibly with input from the Washington Congressional Republicans. The locals are furious about this. They feel that she cheated them out of their chance to pick a replacement.

Jason Sager was challenging well before her announcement. He felt that her free spending voting record (she voted for the Omnibus spending bill, cash for clunkers, and she's had a lot of earmarks) and her belief that the Constitution is a "Living Document" and that the powers of the Congress are not limited to only those defined in Article 1 Section 8.

Overall, I think Nugent will be a much weaker candidate than Ginny was. He also may not get the full support of the local committees. The local committees are supposed to remain neutral, but with an incumbent, they usually support the incumbent to a certain degree. The way Ginny did this has, to some extent, alienated the local party machinery. However, Nugent will have the financial backing of the Washington Republican Establishment. Jason Sager will need all the help we can give him to overcome Nugent's Washington funding machine.

I thought Bruce O’Donoghue was the RNC pick. Daniel Webster a poser? I think not.

“I thought Bruce O’Donoghue was the RNC pick. Daniel Webster a poser? I think not.”

It certainly is hard to keep track of all the new candidates who have entered the District 8 race. I do know that Daniel Webster was not going to run, but entered the race just last week with immediate endorsements from Mike Huckabee and Jeb Bush. That does make it seem as though he would be a favorite of the GOP elite. I know Webster is very popular and has been 30 years in Florida politics. I will certainly be supporting the Republican candidate who wins the Primary, to face Grayson in November. However, my favorite candidate running to face Grayson is Dan Fanelli.

I've had the privilege to meet Dan Webster at various home school events over the years and he has impressed me. I have great respect for him and for his integrity.

I am a member of the Orange County Republican Executive Committee and I have had the opportunity to hear many of the candidates for District 8 speak. Dan Fanelli was good, but there were a couple of folks I thought did a better job. It does not make me like him more to read posts denigrating Dan Webster and then promoting Dan Fanelli. Just my opinion...

I am sorry you felt I was denigrating Dan Webster. I certainly did not mean to come across that way. My point was that Webster was not going to run and then entered the race just before the deadline, with endorsements in hand from Mike Huckabee and Jeb Bush, seems to make him the RNC favorite.

On August 24th the voters in District 8 will make their choice and I will certainly support the Republican candidate against Grayson in November!
