VIDEO: Beck explains how Puerto Rico may quickly become our 51st state
The Constitutional Alamo ^ | 04/29/10 | Glenn Beck

Posted on 04/29/2010 12:00:51 PM PDT by Publius772000

No commentary is needed on this one, folks. Beck lays out the case and the fact behind the conspiracy (*gasp*) to make Puerto Rico the 51st American state.

By the way, official text and information regarding HR 2499 can be found at OpenCongress.org.

Why would we not want Puerto Rico as another state?

It’s not even about what we want, it seems. The Puerto Ricans have had the opportunity to choose statehood on several occasions through popular referendum, and they voted it down each time. It’s not necessarily about whether it would be a good thing or not... it’s HOW it’s being done that’s disturbing.

Gee, I don’t know. PR welfare in NY has worked out so well. And sure, another 20 million stiffs added to the DemonRat vote stuffing cabal. Gosh, go figure, it’s sounds great!

Personally, I welcome it. However, others here on Free Republic are opposed to it because it will guarantee another two Democratic Senators, 15 or so Democratic Representatives, and two more Democratic electoral votes.

Don’t be so sarcastic. I asked an honest question. Seems like adding another state would add revenue—lots of tourism in PR. I welcome consideration of other issues, though.

As I watched Mr. Beck’s report, I couldn’t help but think, “Anti-Violence Oath”, “Anti-Violence Oath”. Another rebel who keeps his leather jacket in the bushes.

I believe that it is essential to continue the fight against Health Care, Illegal Immigration and now Puerto Rico becoming a State.

Americans need to understand that we are being led by a puppet Marxist and radical Muslim.

His backers are the same people who tried to forcibly overthrow the government back in the sixties. After being beaten in Chicago, they made a tactical decision to attack from within.

They have waited 40 years to get to this point and are arrogant enough to think that the majority that voted them in would never question the decisions that they have made.

I don’t think they ever thought that the Silent Majority of the sixties would become the Vocal Tea Party of today. I feel they underestimated”The Greatest Generation”.

I also think that they will stop at nothing to steal the election in 2010 and 2012. I also feel that if they lose in a huge way, they know that they may not be back in power for another generation.

Wouldn’t that be great.

I think it is ALL A PLOY for immigration amnesty.

Puerto Rico would be the FIRST Spanish speaking State in the Union.

I believe this is what the Progressives want more than the 2 senators and 6 Reps.

I am not sure this would be good for the America we are trying to hold on to at the moment

What Publius772000 said. I remember this issue comes up for a vote in PR about every 10 years, and I personally would like PR to either become a state or just go independent. Each time both have been voted down by the PR people because there are greater advantages to them staying a territory (welfare without federal rules, etc).

Also, lately the US has tried to add two states at a time, not just one. I think one of the reasons that the Obama regime is pushing for PR statehood is that it will be used to make the argument for DC statehood. They want a “black” state (even though DC is now majority white).

Isn’t one of the reasons that PR has voted many times not to become a state is that now they have NO Federal Income Tax? Just asking.

Well if it’s about forcing a close by independent island to become a state against their will, let’s go for Cuba!

Glenn Beck is in the process of exposing possibly the biggest con in the history of the world.

The Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX): a potential $10 TRILLION “carbon credit” market created out of thin air (literally).

Who’s involved in the CCX in some way? Barack Obama, Al Gore and ... wait for it.... Goldman Sachs among others!

Beck laid the foundation for the story on his 4/26 show.

Part 1:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQitjq2CXS0

Part 2:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7zKCaSLISQ

Tonight Glenn tells us about Emerald Cities, the brainchild of Franklin “$90 Million Dollar Man” Raines of the notorious Fannie Mae accounting scandal.

Emerald Cities members and backers include the SEIU, AFL-CIO and every other wealth-redistributing marxist, socialist and communist organization in America. These left-wing radical groups are set to reap billions of dollars from the sale of carbon credits.

http://www.emeraldcities.org/

All they need in order to make this $10 Trillion payday happen is Cap and Trade... which, shocker, Goldman Sachs is sure to support too!

Once you understand what is going on with the CCX, there is no mystery whatsoever as to why Goldman is happy to support Obama’s financial reform. Getting a piece of the carbon credit action is well worth playing the pinata for a week at the kabuki theatre hearings in DC.

Watch or TiVo Glenn Beck tonight at 5:00 Eastern 4:00 Central Standard Time.

It might be the most important TV show in our lifetime.

Apparently this is one version of a 51 star flag.

Yes, but I assume with the cost of living difference in Puerto Rico the average taxpayer would fall below or near the bottom of the tax brackets.

someone got it in one same thing for the VI all the money that would be collected by the feds if they were a state is now collected by the local government and they spend it all and then some. The people will never vote to be a state especially the many many employees of the government. It is not going to happen there is a vocal minority that wants statehood and another vocal minority that wants independence and a solid majority that like things just fine the way they are thank you very much including the fact that they can hop on a plane anytime they want and visit for a while or take a job and settle down for as long as they want.

The Flag looks a bit weird....

Maybe it is the stars looking more “in line”....

But now that most of them would not even pay income tax, I don’t know that that would be a hurdle anymore.
