Arizona Law Regarding Illegal Immigrants Puts Obama's Amnesty Agenda On Hold

Obama + Media Using Race Card In Attempt To Criticize Arizona's Enforcement of Federal Law

Over 70% of Arizona residents believe the recent legislation regarding illegal immigrants which was signed into law is totally reasonable. In fact, Arizona residents feel it's about time federal law was enforced. The dirty little secret is anyone visiting the United States from other countries should have their green card with them at all times. This isn't something radical. For example, the law allows an Arizona police officer--who pulls over any vehicle for speeding or any other traffic violation--to ask for a driver's license and, if one is not presented, a request for proof of citizenship will follow. This is not racial profiling. The same is the case if authorities pull over American citizens in any state. Indeed, my wife has to produce a driver's license in Illinois to buy a six-pack of beer. To get on some trains or to board an airplane, proof of identity must be shown. There are many times when a person must show proof of who they are, be it a driver's license or a state-issued ID card. In Arizona--which has one of the largest populations of those who are in the U.S. illegally--common sense has finally taken sway over political correctness and the flaunting of federal law. By the way, many of those who are currently in the U.S. illegally are not Hispanic--a significant number of illegals are in the U.S. because they have flaunted the law regarding work visa's and those who are here for purposes of education, etc.

However, President Barack Obama and the lamestream media are misleading the public regarding what really is in the Arizona law. Fortunately, their message is falling upon deaf ears regarding the feelings of Americans concerning the presence of anywhere from 12 to 20 million illegal immigrants who now reside in the United States. The fact is Obama and the far left are worried other states may follow Arizona's lead. The reluctance to secure our nation's borders is costing taxpayers many billions of dollars at a time when real unemployment is pushing 17%, the economy is in dire straits and our border's lack of security may be allowing terrorists to enter the country at will.

Here's how the President and his allies are spinning the Arizona law. In a speech on April 27, 2010, Obama claimed a family, simply going out for ice cream, could be detained by authorities and asked to prove their citizenship under the use of racial profiling. Either Obama did not read the bill or he sees the Arizona law as a threat to his political agenda--which, among other things, would provide amnesty to those who have entered the U.S. illegally. But this type of politics is nothing new for an administration and the Democratic Party who believe the ends justify the means. The truth is Arizona law prohibits racial profiling. Yet this has not stopped Obama and others from milking the race card issue for all it's worth.

Republicans hands aren't exactly clean regarding the issue of illegal immigrants either. Big business loves a cheap labor force, claiming those who are here illegally will do work Americans won't. This mindset victimizes all of us. However, as we continue to learn, money comes before principle. George W. Bush did his best to pass comprehensive immigration reform through Congress with the aid of powerful Senators, including John McCain (Republican-Arizona). They attempted to pass comprehensive immigration reform, even though most of those receiving amnesty would, most likely have voted Democrat, dooming the Republican Party to minority status for years to come. But comprehensive immigration reform legislation was met by a firestorm of fury from the American people and the bill was de-railed in 2008. Since Obamacare was passed, the "amnesty" legislation is near the top of Obama's political agenda, along with gays in the military and other unpopular pieces of legislation, like Cap and Trade, card check...

The popularity of the new Arizona law caught Obama off guard. Despite the fact Democrats rammed through their version of health care reform, the Arizona state legislature may have stole the President's thunder and he definitely doesn't like it. Obama's big government agenda has been dealt a blow by the state of Arizona because most Americans continue to believe illegal immigration and the security of our nation's borders is a high priority.

Yet don't expect Obama to give up easily. The Obama administration has earned a reputation for either not telling Americans the truth about what is in a bill (i.e., the stimulus package, health care, etc.) or intentionally deceiving the public regarding state laws Obama does not like. Obama and the lamestream media, who play the race card whenever it's to their advantage, are simply following a well-used far left playbook. But for years, American citizens have been subjected to insulting practices by government agencies and many businesses which flaunt the law regarding the enforcement of immigration policy.

Kudos to the state of Arizona for the courage and good sense to enforce federal law! Hopefully, other states will follow Arizona's lead and take the responsibility the federal government has shirked for years, under both political parties. Honest government is refreshing, isn't it?

They’re white. :)

Sorry, but I don’t see Obama’s amnesty agenda being put on hold. In fact, I believe the opposite....that they will do whatever needs done re: Arizona in order to create such a huge crisis...a crisis that they’ll claim only an amnesty can fix. They’ve GOT to legalize those voters.

And now you know why the Mexiticians (illegal immigrant-sympathizer politicians) in California have repeatedly drafted Bills allowing illegals to get Driver’s licenses.

You can tell someone is racist if they accuse someone else of being racist for simply denouncing illegal behavior, or if they voted for Obama simply because he isn’t white.

They can try. But they've already committed political suicide for the midterm elections, and every additional unpopular policy they push is just another nail in their coffin. Their only hope is that the economy will recover by 2012 (it will). But if they've been lame ducks for 2 years of that and everything they've pushed as been incredibly unpopular, that won't be enough.
