My husband battled the wireless system all day yesterday and the day before. Couldn’t get my daughter’s wireless to get a decent signal. But we’ve been having troubles off and on for the past half a year. We’ve had troubles in our town and the extended area also, although the last couple days it seems it was just our house.

Our neighbors were using our wireless so my husband tried to set it so we didn’t have to worry about them sucking up our signal and going bad places with it. Now they’ve got their own signal and he’s wondering if it’s interfering with ours.

It's possible, but the fix is easy. There are 11 channels available but if your neighbour's router is the same brand as yours, they're probably using the same channel. To fix it just go to the router's admin page (usually http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1), go to the wireless settings, and there should be an option to select the channel. Changing the channel will solve the problem. You may need to reboot the PC and router after making the change.
