I get your point, however, I'm not "missing the point entirely" because I'm not discussing the "occultic" theological angle of the extraterrestrial question.
I don't believe that aliens, if they do indeed exist, originate from an occult, or supernatural source. My personal reality (opinion) is that they're solid, intelligent life forms from elsewhere in the cosmos, if indeed, they do exist.
That's my personal view of them, and I don't accept another explanation, therefore, I don't have a dog in that fight.
