In response to the Arizona House having given its initial blessing to a bill that would require Barack Obama to show his birth certificate before he can be put on the ballot in 2012, Assistant House Democratic Leader Kyrsten Sinema says the Republicans' birther bill is ridiculous! "Nobody at the Secretary of State office has a copy of my birth certificate". This clip is even funnier due to the fact that Ms. Sinema talks so fast that you might consider playing this clip at half speed.

We don't need your birth certificate. There is no requirement for state representatives to be natural born citizens. This law does not just apply to Obama but also to any and all future candidates for the office of President of the United States.
I know that's difficult for you to understand, would you like me to type slower for you?
I would really like to have a bill such as this one here in Florida. I am certain Governor Charlie “The Tan” Crist would sign it right away!
All that is needed is one of the 57 States, and it doesn't matter if it is deep Red or has only 3 electoral votes. That the POTUS would decline to have his name on the ballot in any of the States would be proof that he is not a NBC.
She’d probably be surprised by what the State Deparement has on her.
I bet that would pass a constitutional amendment process.
(not just a COLB. Why do those even exist? is it to conceal adoptions from children who are adopted?)
The Arizona moron legislator doesn't even understand the current Arizona law. Arizona, and every other state in the union already demands that the candidate or the nominating party sign an affidavit attesting to their candidate's fulfilling of the Constitutional criteria for office. The bill is only adding the additional but reasonable burden of the candidate also supply notarized documentation supporting what he's attesting too.
She mentions the "Federal Elections Commission" several times, as to intimate that they would have some problems with the proposed statute. She, apparently failing her 8th grade civics class, must not understand that the FEC has NOTHING to do with state ballot access, and everything to do with fund-raising for national federal office. States solely control their respective ballot access. This is well-settled law. Again, she's an idiot.
bump
This requirement is even more important today that it was when the constitution was written. Considering how easy it is to immigrate today.
Roger Calero is a resident alien and he was on the ballot in several states as a presidential candidate for the socialist party. In a couple of states he had an official citizen “stand in” on the ballot.
We need to fix this whole thing now and not later.
I hadn’t seen that. Shes very much in zero’s pocket. Expect other trial balloons as to how they can retroactively change the requirements.
Were they pumping helium into the Chamber ?
Yikes, the voice !
It’s common sense for every candidate running for every elected position to provide documentation that they meet the requirements of that office.
From local city council seats to school boards , etc.
Many school districts make students show evidence that they physically reside within the boundaries of their districts.
My city requires that we provide copies of our animal’s rabies vaccinations when they get their licenses renewed.
We have to provide evidence of car insurance when we register our vehicles.
All of us have had to provide documentation at various stages of our lives.
It is entirely appropriate that candidates for the highest office in the land provide their bona fides.
What should raise a lot of red flags is the fact that the present POTUS and his enablers ridicule and dismiss the concept of such a simple request.

Between lines 34 and 35, insert:
"B. The national political party committee for a candidate for president for a party that is entitled to continued representation on the ballot shall provide to the secretary of state written notice of that political party's nomination of its candidates for president and vice‑president. Within ten days after submittal of the names of the candidates, the national political party committee shall submit an affidavit of the presidential candidate in which the presidential candidate states the candidate's citizenship and age and shall append to the affidavit documents that prove that the candidate is a natural born citizen, prove the candidate's age and prove that the candidate meets the residency requirements for President of the United States as prescribed in article II, section 1, Constitution of the United States.
C. The secretary of state shall review the affidavit and other documents submitted by the national political party committee and, if the secretary of state has reasonable cause to believe that the candidate does not meet the citizenship, age and residency requirements prescribed by law, the secretary of state shall not place that candidate's name on the ballot."
She is just the type of idiot that will sign away her own State’s Rights to the Fed Regime... so long as Dimocrats are in charge.
somebody need to remind this employee of the Arizona state residents, that We the People are speaking....
I hope they also require that the candidate for President show that they were born to 2 US citizen parents, as outlined in the US Constitution.
